My Detailer/tint guy coating me $1000 cash with 5 year warranty for my Tundra. I have a clear bra in the front of the hood and on the doors (partially). He said, it all has to come down which he will do.

Anyone has any experience with ceramic coating? $1000 sounds reasonable? Does it last 5 year?

Mine is a street truck. I keep it away from dirt, mud, snow and to an extent rain as well.

It’s not 3M. The film is fading as well so it looks crappy. He used a clay bar to clean the film a little just to show me. He said he won’t do the coating with film, it will make his work looks sloppy. He is one of the guys who can’t sleep at night if his quality of work is not there. The film is about 12inch high all the way across the hood in the front and then just the edges on the doors. I got 4 black cars including Tundra. Trying to get all done starting with Tundra if I can cut a deal w him.

I strongly agree, Devil is in the details. I really don’t like getting in he said she said stuff at end. I will make sure I will ask these questions. May be I would give him my VW GTI first and see the results.
