Has anyone had a center support/carrier bearing fail? What were the symptoms?

    Agree.

In addition, the ability to pin point the location will be difficult. You will swear the noise is coming from the rear, then the next time it will sound like its coming from the front.

Thanks. I have a light-throttle whine/howl at 55-60 mph (no noise when coasting or accelerating). Brand new diff with 4.88's but the noise was there with the old diff too.

Thinking I might have misaligned the support bearing when I installed the carrier drop kit a while ago.

But I could be way off.
