    Mine came from Dallas.

As far as the Lock'er Down vs. these less inexpensive alternatives, I've looked at one of those very closely (in a Ford, not a Tundra) and compared it to the one I have from Amazon and I have to say I don't see a lot there, at least not for the price difference.
They're both just metal boxes bolted to the floor with a spring-loaded door and a cam lock.
The locks are really the only differing factors, and from what I can tell there's nothing there to make me think one is superior to the other.
They're all just a deterrent at best. If a thief wants in there, and they have the right tools, they're getting in there... either one.
Sure, Lock'er Down is made in the USA and all that, but that in itself doesn't make it better, just more expensive.

In the end its all about what your personal evaluation and comfort level is with the safe you choose. If you are more comfortable with the name brand version and believe its superior, then its the right choice for you. If you check out one of the less expensive and less advertised versions and feel its adequate for the job, then it probably is. Most gun owners will be able to tell right away whether a safe is up to the task or not.

Hi guys, I bought my 2018 truck a few weeks ago. It's used but well kept, it looks almost new. When I test drove it, I saw the safe box but didn't inquired about it (too many things to pay attention). After getting home the following day I tried to open the safe without luck. The key and the generic combination both seem to work in terms of turning the lock, however, it doesn't open. You can even feel the can lock engaging and disengaging when the turning the key, but still it doesn't open. Almost feel like is jammed. Have any of you had this issue? It seems to be the OEM model. I called the dealership and they say they don't have too many safe box before and they are not sure. The dealership is an hour away so I'm trying to see if it's something simple that can solve without going over there. If not, then I'll go.

How far can you turn the chrome knob? I can take a picture of the cam so you can see what your dealing with if you need it.

t goes all the way from the locked symbol to the unlocked symbol. It seems is turning all the way, except the door doesn't move, at all. The picture would be great because you are right, I don't know how theinside looks.
    Thanks Ruggybuggy

Well that sucks. Interesting that the key doesn’t even work. Who knows if that’s the right key even since it’s used. I have no real solutions for you other than to drill or otherwise break into it. I’d be willing to start a replacement fund if you document breaking into it just so everyone can see how easy/hard it is to get into.

For those wondering it the quality is the same between the Toyota safe and the knock off here are a couple of pictures showing the difference in the latch.

Yep - and it was delivered a few minutes ago. It looks exactly like what has been described here, including the bent corner. It's pretty heavy, too. Pics:

That's strange, the bend corner on the OE always happens on the right rear corner.

I did have to remove the OEM tray, but my Dremel made quick work of that!

Got mine's today and it had the same dent on the right corner fixed it with a pair of pliers. The install was very easy and I'm pleased. I only spent 58.00 bucks thank to you guys posting the Black Friday Deals. Did not upload photos because everyone else did a great job on posting them.

Thank so much for the pictures guys. It's a little better to understand what's going on inside. That's a pretty heavy duty cam inside. I'm wondering if the cam part of the lock is lose from the lock, so it doesn't matter when I turn the lock. Here are a few pics. Tried to upload video but I guess file it's too big.PXL_20201206_013838097.jpg PXL_20201206_013258418.jpg

When you swing the latch from left to right does it feel weighted? Maybe the nut came off the cam. I would try a slip something in the crack at an angle and see if you can feel the cam. You might be able to see it shiny in the crack with a flashlight. If the nut has came off you might be able to push the cam out of the slot through the crack in the door.

Had to do a little digging to find it but hopefully it pays off. Seems to be a similar build to the others offered but for about half the price.

Too much trouble. After I bent it back and installed it, only I can tell that there was ever anything wrong with it. Plus, as tight as it was getting it installed, I don't plan on EVER removing it!

Check the build link in my signature.
Mine arrived today - no bent corners at all. The combo-vs-key operation takes a little bit to understand: if the combination is not dialed to the unlock code, and the safe is UNLOCKED, you cannot use the key to lock it. But if the safe is LOCKED you can use the key to unlock and lock it.

Planning on installing it this evening. I'll have to modify my OCD organizer to fit in the bottom once I get it installed. For $68 (with tax), I'm happy.

My Black Friday special was delivered today. I havent had a chance to open the box up yet. I guess it's a game of chance if you get a bent corner or not.
