Center console conversion (just console for now)

Has anyone converted the shifter from column to floor or vice versa? I’ve been searching here and inter webs but haven’t seen anything yet. I think the most difficult would be the park shift lockout. Everything else is mechanical.

I just ordered my center console online. Where do you find a piece to replace where the console shifter is located? To make it flat?

 

Just did this over the weekend and it was pretty straightforward. The only issue I had was the a/c duct under the center console needed to be swapped out. I didn't realize this until I test fit the console the first time. If you have a crewmax and are going to swap out the middle seat for the console then make sure you buy the a/c duct needed which is part number 58861-0C030. It bolted right up and I just filled the shifter hole with a hard piece of plastic for the meantime. I'm thinking of drawing something up to get 3-D printed that would make that spot an additional storage tray of some sort.

 

Ordered console on eBay and had the metal shop at work make me a compartment for the shifter hole.

 

Looks good! Kinda wish I could convert my console shift to a column shift to have more center console room.
