there needs to be a way to rig something like this to a bear trap spring. But so it ‘looks’ like the cat can be slid through it. Get their hands in it.

How exactly does that contraption protect the catalytic converter if you cut ahead and below the trap on the pipe?

? Maybe the extra rattles could alert the owner?
Maybe the quality of human that steals cats cant fathom such complex measures?
Maybe the thieves can turn those devices in for an extra $50 or so and the company puts em back into inventory?

I spent 24 years in Louisiana, born and raised. I would reconsider this idea. If you like flat land and pine trees, you'll love it there. If you like humidity you can stir with a spoon, you'll love it there. Bugs. If you like bugs, you'll love it there. And snakes. If you like your roads lumpy and full of holes, you'll love it there. The duck hunting sucks. The deer hunting is meh. It's on the gulf, but has no beaches. No mountains. Shit, no hills! Flat. 3 seasons. Hot season. Kinda hot season and rainy season, which overlaps the other 2 seasons.

    Counter point:

Food is awesome. Like steal your heart awesome.
    People are pretty awesome.
    Fishing is pretty good.
These people know how to party. Like, they make up excuses to party. Festivals with no real basis in anything, just because. To party. 'Cause, party.
Cost of living is pretty low. This may be the selling point.

Not that we need more people moving here, but TN has free community/technical college for all ages. Paid for by funds from lotto tickets. I couldn't live in Louisiana.

So an industrial size mosquito magnet and swimming pool isn’t going to give you relief from the bugs and heat? I can only be indoors with the AC for so long.

Well, state run community or technical colleges. No 4 year degree if that's what you mean. You could get the first 2 for free.

Too bad we can't set up an electrical charge that would zap the hell out of somebody touching the cats.

Where there's a will, there is a way. Extra battery, power inverter and come up with a way to use an electric fence...

At your own risk. User assumes all risk & liability.

    Im not advocating.

but junkyard airbags. Half a dozen per side hooked to the alert button. Bedazzle em with lead. Or ceramic, or glitter. But, you have to trigger it, automatic booby traps are frowned upon. Wonder if it could be triggered to fire 2 per alarm honk. Just have to have the switch off if you plan on honking or having your face slammed into the steering wheel.

I'm not advocating either but in the good ol days the shotgun with rock salt was a fun and effective deterrent for petty thefts and garden raiders. Can't do that anymore.... and get off my lawn!
    Just kidding, I don't have a lawn.

Maybe just a doggie door in the floor of the cab so your attack dog is on a leash which only allows him to roam around the underside of the vehicle? :notsure:

You guys are great! Gonna go try and hijack my truck back next week and get straight pipes welded on for the time being.

OOhhhh and if you are thinking about louisiana.... Check the weather... Pretty miserable at the the moment. Especially if you're not from here and used to the soup we breath.

Ahhhh, I grew up there as well south of NO in the swamps. Absolutely loved it. Talk about being free in a world of its own. Nothing like the marshes of the LA delta. Agree that you need to be from there and have the Cajun blood in order to handle the weather and bugs.
