    A couple mothballs inside a plastic cup with a few holes in the side will do it. Cats are pretty wary, he won't come back.

    Even if you hose it down while on your property but not on the truck it will be enough to keep it away..

    A shot from the pellet gun would be worse than the cat walking on it. The hose should work. Our cat used to use our cars as a short cut down from the deck. Never hurt the plastic roof on my wife's jeep though.

    I trapped a cat that had been walking on my old T-100 and took it to work and let it go and never thought a thing about it. A few weeks later we had a barred owl in our oak tree and all of the neighbors thought it was cool because it was so big. One of the neighbors from further up the street made the comment. "Oh, I bet the owl is what got my cat. He went out and never came home".
    I never said a word......

    The pellet gun or water hose ideas only work if you're there when the cat is. This is probably unlikely. The traps work. What you do with the trapped cat is up to you. Killing the cat is not a good idea if your neighbors saw the trap or maybe own the cat. I'm not going to voice an opinion about the morality of taking the cats life. The water drowning won't lose your trap if it's lowered into the water on a rope. Relocation to the workplace parking lot or the wild is not a good idea. The result is either road kill, starvation, or more feral cats. Delivery to the animal shelter is best for a humane solution.

    @lionix
    My live traps have caught hundreds through the years; cats, coons, rats, skunks, squirrels.
    I used leg hold traps, trapping for skins and coyotes for varmint control , long ago.
    Sorry about that response, I'll try to stick to sarcasm in the future!

    @BlueBottle
    What constraints prevent you from using a live trap and taking the cat to a shelter?

    I guess I can do that. I'm really not sure if it's a stray or someone cat. There aren't many strays in my area so I have a feeling it belongs to someone.

    The owner will usually recover their cat from the shelter, and after having paid a small fee, will keep the cat under better control in the future.

    Have you considered addressing your concerns with the pet owner(neighbor)? If you haven't met them, this is a good reason why a person might want to become acquainted them asap, before it's a circumstance such as this.

    Otherwise, high pressure hose works GREAT in the FACE! I'd recommend doing it before it gets on your ride, with about 200' of hose so you can put up a good chase. Neighbors might get bent, though.

    Problem is I don't know when the perp climbs the cars. I think it's sometime during the night.

    It's not my immediate neighbors as I know all their pets. Plus I don't know what it looks like!!!!

    I think I'll buy a super soaker. Great excuse to LoL

    I have tried the moth balls, the motion sprinklers and the cage. I ended up waiting outside at night when no one would see me (I think/hope) and ambushed him with a super soaker filled with vinegar. He hasn't been back since.

    Nope, after the first three failures it became a matter of principle. It was like he would wait then walk on my truck right before the dew would turn to frost then tap dance on the hood and roof, then use my windshield as a slide. I really wish I could have confronted my neighbor about it but she is pretty sick and good people. I didn't want to stress her about it. In the end it worked out.

    Did you just sit on a lawn chair or did you make some kind of blind? How long did you have to wait and what time did this go down?

    I kind of knew its pattern. I'd say I ambushed him around 10PM. The way my porch is built there is a nice blind spot. (Disclaimer, I'm not psycho, The VA said so)
