    More than a few.....
I mean if you plan on only using for fish or seafood it's fine. It makes other meat taste like fish after.

Interesting. I never noticed a fish taste in other foods. I did use it to saute vegetables in a soy based marinade and that left a taste that I had to almost strip the pan to eliminate.

Like I said it is a picture from a random website post, so I have no real idea what it says, but there is a Christian thing about "Taken, Blessed, Broken, Given" that refers back to the Bible story of the fish and loafs that Jesus "took", "blessed" it "broke" it and "gave" it out to the multitudes that were there. It seems fitting for a kitchen where the owners are thankful for the food they have.
That would be my best guess.

Thanks! I dig the cast iron wall though, very traditional and simple! My wife would beat me to death with my cast iron if I suggested that deco idea even

Seared pork loin today, turned out great in a lodge pan, added some tomatoes and soup stock, then in the oven for a spell

For a side dish I roasted potatoes and onions with crushed garlic and lots of butter on the pellet grill.

I have posted in the grilling thread but since I used the cast iron skillets I will post it here also for reference.
Last night I made sirloin steak and mushrooms in one cast iron skillet, and roasted potatoes with garlic butter and parmesan in another, on the grill. To me that's the best feature of the cast iron cookware is that you can throw the directly on the coals if you want to, and they just come out a little better every time you use them.

They are all used pretty regularly. No oil on the wall to speak of, after use I wipe as much as I can off and smoke the rest off. Now they will smudge and dent the wall taking them down and putting them back, but all of that is hidden by the pan itself when its hanging. A little paint will fix that right up when the time comes.

This is my lodge pan, about 7 years old and used almost daily. It's starting to flake a bit and gettinh rough. It's actually the lid to a lodge Dutch oven as well, anyway what should I do to Smooth it all out again. I do plan to get a newer, larger lodge with a handle soon but I wanna fix this one too. 20210512_204524.jpg 20210512_204549.jpg
