This is kinda what I'm after. Is this a commercially available product?

    Not the garage rack :)

    The truck bed bike mount/rack/dohicky.

Ah, I guess there are sharing restrictions on that vid.

The link works on my desktop browser though, but not my phone.

I'm looking for something like this. Something that integrates with bed rail. Something I could drop my bike in and maybe bungee down front/rear and be ready to roll with the bike inside the bed.

Had to get a bigger pad with the Tundra now. It's a RaceFace pad but Fox branded. I need to apply the 303 UV protectant to it otherwise the straps will fly away after a season in the sun apparently. Fox Tailgate Pad.jpg

My buddy has a Lolo rack which is also rad for shuttling and we've never lost a bike off of it.
    Lolo Gas Station.jpg

We've also ran a tailgate pad with a Thule rack. I've also used and like the Recon racks as well.Tailgate Plus Thule.jpg

I just got a 6 bike Lolo Rack, works awesome. Made in the USA, and the dude that makes them is a shredder on the bike. Good guy. If you're hauling bikes with dual crown forks you need a different hook for the Lolo, but so far, mine has been bulletproof. Had 5 DH bikes on mine today, shuttling up rough forest roads, no problems what so ever.

Any chance you have a side view of the Lolo rack on the Tundra? I want to see how much clearance I might have from the bikes to a topper.

Thanks! Can the glass open all the way with the rack in the upright position? Do the saddles touch the tailgate or would they with an XL 29er?

@Tundra983 yes the glass can open all the way with the rack in the upright position. The saddles don't touch the tailgate provided you don't have your dropper extended. It's a super nice rack built by riders for riders!

All great options for carrying bikes. I have a 1Up SD and like it for the 4Runner and can swap it to the Tundra if needed. I do want to leverage the bed since I have the 6.5 ft option.

I'm leaning on something like this:

    cc699165bdf9e684765836fd593f3208.jpg

with something higher on the rear end, that will oppose the wheel from rolling. And also bungee the rear for stability. Maybe the front too. Do you think that is adequate/overkill?

I keep my bikes locked up out of sight inside my cap. I got rear ended in my old tundra with 2 bikes secured in the bed away from the tailgate. Truck was totaled with severe frame damage. Bikes survived without any damage.

Might want to check if you carry insurance to cover your bikes and others if you carry them off the back. 5 bikes hanging off the back can easily become $25,000 in lost damages.

Now of youre just running shuttle off public roads that's another thing

I used some magnum stake pocket inserts for the anchors. I bought some aluminum blocks off ebay for spacing to get off the bed rail. I used some old bed rail systems from an old truck and use tslot nuts to mount cross bars. and mounted them through the aluminum blocks to the inserts. Then I bought some crossbars off Amazon. In added the links in the bottom.

Rack is cool but I like your truck stance a lot! Did you post your specs anywhere on the boards?

Wow! I guess I have been sleeping for the past couple of years. There are so many ways to get our bikes to our spots. I won't even bother showing a pic of my Thule platform rack. But it has been on five or six different cars and I have never lost a bike. However, my first choice would be the 1up, the ground clearance is so much higher than my Thule.
