CarPlay startup … a little geeky but kind of fun

I think I figured it out, I didn't finish setting up the Automation command part of it. Sorry user error lol. Still trying to figure out how to run a WAIT command for in between sentences. Thought I saw somewhere that you could specify the amount of time i.e. 1 second, 2 seconds etc.

To use that function, do I need to download the Toolbox Pro to get the WAIT function? Or is in Shortcuts? If so where do I find that? Thanks for your help!

 

Wish i could do this with Android Auto. It would drive my wife nuts

 

You don’t need toolbox pro for it. It’s included under scripting. Just type wait in the search bar.

 

I think there was a post earlier in this thread where someone found an android app that worked.

yes, @jeffw6236 where the hell is the "get" when retrieving the text in the first pic?

 

@Bakershack @jeffw6236 I figured it out, you use "Global variables" and then can change the action to "get" and select what you want. However my text doesn't show up as "CarPlayRan" it just says text. Does that matter?

 

I don’t think it matters. Just be sure that the line that says create if it doesn’t exist matches the first line

The commands I’ve circled in yellow below have to match. I used CarPlayRan because it makes it easier for me to find later. But it can be whatever you want as long as they match.
