The door to my canopy is wrecking my paint. Anyone have a similar problem? Any suggestions out there. This is my first canopy, so this bit is all new to me.

You can use xpel film or any paint protection film to protect the paint. But you may want to fix the paint and let it cure before applying the film.

I had an undercover one piece cover that laid over the edges on my first tundra. It rubbed the hell out of my paint. I tried repositioning it multiple times but eventually have up.

Same thing happened on my taco, I used a piece of vinyl wrap to cover the damage and to prevent future damage.

Yes same here. Called the dealer and they got paint match and some extra padding to lift the topper up a little more and this is all free. I have yet to get this done yet tho. I put some small tube and tape on the corners to keep from digging the paint.

You might be able to find an aftermarket tailgate cap that extends down to cover the damaged part. I would clear coat or something to prevent rust though.

Looks like I'm going to have to check all my corners too! Thanks for all the good suggestions everyone.

@Bailey had similar issues when he was running a cap. I think he ended up line-X the tops

I have the one piece undercover (came with the truck) and it had worn the paint to bare metal. I had my bed liner sprayed over the areas that the cover sits on. It works great and looks good.

My truck doesn't have a topper but clearly did in a previous life. I'd like to find something like this to cover the scar on the tailgate.

Whatever you decide to do, make sure you protect for corrosion.
