And I completely understand that. There’s other codes that includes the Mass Airflow sensor and they said similar stuff that maybe the thieves could cause further damage and I’m not blaming them for that kind of error. I was talking to them more of that their setup doesn’t work on my truck because it’s in limp mode now, not before. If mass airflow sensor was already damaged and caused the limp mode, how come the truck drove fine before they installed their parts? That’s what bugs me :(

fortunately with the current used car market, I got a pretty good appraisal on my truck :)

It kinda sounds like a rubbed thru sensor wire shorting out. Because of the random other sensor codes.

Make sure the heat shields etc are not cutting into the wiring harness by the o2 sensors. Inspect any part of that harness where it would contact a heat shield edge if a thief was yanking on it for slices. It’s millivolt range on the actual sensor wire so static or anything can cause issues if it’s shorted. The other wires are an additional ground and reference and heater. It’s also shielded wire in the harness on several of the race cars I have had so it must be sensitive.

Thank you but I just put a deposit to reserve a 2022 Tundra coming next month. Hoping for a very nice Christmas gift :)

Tundras are finicky with aftermarket cats. Not sure why. After waiting and waiting for OEM cats I broke down and got the same Magnaflow cats installed. But the check engine light remained. Turned out the thieves also cut the fuel line and the EVAP purge valve line resulting in the codes. It was an extra several thousand dollars in damages, but the insurance paid for it.

Once fixed, the codes and engine light went away - for awhile. Check engine light came back on a month later - inefficient catalytic converter bank 2 (or something like that). I cleared the code and it went away for awhile again - until the same dang code popped back up. It’s been doing that now for several months. It runs perfectly fine, otherwise, and has never gone into limp mode. With the code cleared, it even passed emissions. But I’m going to have order OEM cats eventually to fix it once and for all.

Anyway, your codes sound different from mine, though. Not sure what the problem is, but it’s possible the thieves caused additional damage that hasn’t been diagnosed yet.

So I have a 2014 Toyota Tundra same thing happened to me they took the cats and sliced fuel lines. I had Toyota replace the fuel lines thinking I could possibly drive it for a little bit but NO it went into limp mode sounded like a dump truck and could barely reach 55. I went to Bass Collision and had to pay out of pocket to fix the cats there and it’s running good but still have a check engine light displayed. They said drive it a few days and if it doesn’t disappear bring it back…I’m back on full coverage insurance But I’m screwed myself by being on liability when it happened. I like my truck it’s paid for and don’t want to have to give it up because of the car theft problem. I now have sever anxiety every morning when I walk to my truck praying it’s still in one piece. I will say while Toyota had my truck I had a loaner car for 2 months waiting on the fuel lines, they gave me a brand new 2022 C-HR 700 miles on it decked out and cost 40 bucks to fill…..it was nice to zip around for the brief time. But I’m out 5600 bucks after all said and done.
