In my line of work if the repair and recalibration of a particular test instrument approaches 50% of it original value we recommend repair by replacement. Some of these instruments have a minimum flat rate repair charge from 16K to 20K. Similar to your situation. Any indications in what direction your insurance is going to go yet?

Because in lifted truck the frame is exposed badly. Its a downside. More damage is done in some cases.

I cant believe that WOW man. One thing if a body shop is good and does it right you in the long run will have a stronger frame.

I'll eat crow. Pics didn't look so bad.
I was thinking...time to go ahead and throw on some pre-runner rear fenders.

the price for the fram is not repairs it's a new frame just in case someone was thinking it was repairs. I still don't know what the insurance is going to do. The old lady didn't have insurance I stopped by the hospital to check up in her..once she knew who I was she busted into tears and apologizing for everything she is pretty bad, at 76 yrs old I feel terribly sorry

Nope, not me. I cannot stand uninsured motorist. If I was the responding officer she would not only receive a citation for the moving violation for being at fault in the accident, but also for no proof of insurance.
If she was stopped prior to the t/a I would have her park the car, cite her, and see if she can get a ride...some cops i know will / would impound her vehicle as well. She needs to abaide by state laws b/c there are many out there that may not be able to afford / obtain uninsured motorists coverage.

You guys and girls.. this shows one thing here. Like the pic 2 above this post this shows something. This shows that Americans can build great tough trucks and that are above all safe. Tundra was born here in the usa using American engineering.. when the three laugh at tundra when it came out, but I think more and more the big 3 see what Americans can really build now and toyota is proving the big 3 wrong.

This is the only pic I have of the other truck. And a pic where my truck was after the impact.

I like how the tundra exploded getting rid of the energy vs the ford which took all the impact and gave it to the passengers inside. Interesting. Hummm. Thanks for the pic made me think on my previous statement on how good tundra is built. Thanks man. Glad you came out ok. This was a serious hit it took.

Well, the insurance finally had me drop off the truck at the shop. adjuster should be there sometime this week but no actual date was given to me. Will be fighting this till I get a new truck that's for sure. Wish me luck as I have reason to believe this will be a 12 round fight. Also, got a sonata for a rental -.- which sucks given I was just getting used to being so high off the ground lol

Agreed.............. I would definitely return the sonata for an upgrade. After all, this accident is not Sweets' fault. That should not even matter. Then again it may depend on per day/maximum per accident the insurance company will pay since the other party had no insurance. I went for the highest rental coverage option with my insurance policy.

meh it helps not to spend that much money on gas ATM lol I don't have any shipments coming in this month as im fully stocked in both store locations so we should be good for now. have some long trips this whole month and I will def not miss the amount of gas I got this past weekend. 700 highway mile round trip to Houston and I averaged 11.2 mpg on cruise control. shit was out of this world. I have another run back there this weekend with a detour to Austin still debating if to take the Sonata or the Mazda...I get there with 3/4 tank on the mazda idk how bad the sonata is. Truck took tank and 5/8 almost

Damn. 11.2 on cruise? my average indicator goes from 10.9 to 11.0 mpg. Everything was reset about a month ago. All city driving stop and go. Was at 13.0mpg. Got a 500 mile trip comping up on Memorial Day. Hopefully I'll get more than 11.2

You will be driving it again soon enough. Enjoy the mpgs while you can. I've heard of breaking in a truck but you took it to the next limit. sarc
