Another classic thread where a new member asks a question, is never seen again, and it turns into multiple pages of jokes and/or sexual innuendo. :D

Don’t worry, I’m sure OP probably threw some lube on it, then started hammering, and busted that nut. Probably enjoyed it so much they forgot to come back and thank us for the sound advice!

I don’t recall the advice given on the sound he should be making when he busts his nut.

I see your standard rotation motor crank bolt and raise you to an overtorqued Honda reverse rotation engine crank bolt. Y'know the ones that they make the fancy sockets for.

That socket does not look like impact one. I've had socket shrapnel flying all over my garage :)

Nope, no honda cranks yet. I knew they ran backwards, but didn't know they had special sockets.

No sir, but I've had all 1400 ftlb through my 1" socket multiple times running a knockout set. They've held up very well. So far.

I'm definitely guilty of using a regular socket if I don't have the right size impact...

But when it comes to something like that axle nut, I made sure to buy an impact socket. Pretty glad I used one on the ball joint press, too. I've never just stood there letting an impact work for so long until that press. I did short bursts then rest, but still, it took at least 10 minutes.
