Can anyone confirm if Thule and Yakima use the same size tracks?

I just purchased the Rhino Rack ROC25 roof rack with Vortex Aero crossbars. In fact, etrailer just shipped it (item #RR64YR) a few hours ago. For a more streamlined "factory" look, the crossbars sit flush into the legs rather than extending past the legs on either side.

Also have a cheap Chinese-made basket to sit on top of that, which will have four 4" flood/spot cube lights installed.

Behind that, in the bed, is a color-match (sunset bronze) A.R.E. DCU truck cap with double doors in the rear (tailgate removed). A bed slide is fitted inside the bed cap to make it easier to get to my stuff.

All this is my winter ("overland" truck) build, which should be finished by the end of this month.

Got the Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform on today. I installed the Backbones a few days ago. What’s strange is the center crossbar on the platform doesn’t align with the center tabs on the backbone. So the platform is bolted down in the 4 corners but not the middle. I still need to install the forward facing cargo rail.

Flip the platform around. The center bar is offset. The platform is marked front/back.

Edit: comparing yours to mine, the offset looks correct, are the rails on the correct side?

I have the platform oriented correctly and as far as I can tell, the backbones should have the Rhino Rack emblem to the forward facing side. I saw the offset and measured but it doesn’t seem like it would fit either way. It is a universal system so maybe it’s just not used? Seems odd though.

It is. I’m going to call RR on Monday.

On another note, if you happen to have a 46” piece of that extruded aluminum you’re not going to use, I would be interested in taking it off your hands for a fair price.

I have a 47" piece of the rail. Is that what you need? D shaped extruded.

@Windsor is your 42113 center crossbar riveted in place? Mine is. Mine also came pre assembled and it looks like the 42113B that comes with the universal canopy kit has to be manually assembled. All three crossbars on that one can be moved around.

I’ll probably center the platform and just drill new holes for the forward and rear crossbars so I can use all 6 mounting points.

RR also just seemed to update all their part numbers which isn’t helping things.

If it’s the same stuff as the cargo rail then that would be about perfect. If you’re willing to part with it, PM me and name a price.

    If not, no worries.

Yeah, the center bar is riveted in place. 2 rivets per slat. Moving it should be pretty easy. One hole drilled on each side rail, 2 on each slat (they even designed it with lines to mark where to drill for fasteners).

This is the rail I'm talking about. Its extra from my full rail kit. I have 2 left, I'll part with one.

Either pay shipping, or have someone pick it up. Right now, I'm about 6 miles NE of Glide OR in the hills, but I can drop it off at my folks place in Myrtle Creek on tuesday to be picked up at a later date.

Got the final piece to the cargo rail cut, drilled, painted and rigged tonight. Now it is ready to be installed on the platform. Big thanks to @Windsor.1C0D0E89-06B1-46BD-AA94-B630A8FC5D5F.jpg

I’m waiting on some hardware to make the platform adjustment so I can use all 6 mounting points. Instead of repositioning the center crossbar which has a bunch of rivets, my plan is to keep the center crossbar on the platform where it’s at and move the entire platform back on the backbone ~1.5” to line it up with the center mounting points on the backbone. This will give the platform a more centered position on the canopy too. Then I’ll drill new holes to reposition the forward and rear crossbars on the platform to line up with the fwd and rear backbone mounting points. This will reduce the drilling to 4 new holes. Here is a photo of how it looks now:89A45CC8-455B-46FE-93DB-464D79B96E33.jpg

How high from your roof to the top of the platform is this, @TunsofFon ?

About 5-6 inches to top of the platform. Add another 3 inches for the rail in the front. I no longer clear 7 ft clearance bars anymore. I think I’m sitting at 7’1” or 2” with that front rail on the rack.
