So much snow! Southern Alberta got dumped on. Kinda fun! My work got called off, so the kids and I piled into the Tundra and drove around pushing/shoveling/pulling people out. With the odd bit of roosting thrown in for fun... ;)

We have snow on the ground. Nothing in the forecast though and still mild temps. Should make for a good day ice fishing on Christmas Day. :)

It snowed on us almost all day yesterday, and is now clearing off and cooling. We’re left with about 2” of crusted whiteness on top of a 1” base of slush, time to finish cleaning it up, as it’s supposed to drop -8C tonight.

@Wrongside , those are good times, I love a good dump of snow on a day I don’t have to work for those same reasons.

It’s so fun seeing the looks on people’s faces when you pull over and offer to help. Disbelief, mixed with relief & happiness. Good for the kids to experience too- helping just because you can. And they had a riot. They even said this morning, as I headed out the door to work, “That was the best Christmas ever!” :)

    Snowmageddon Calgary day 2.
Took the misses Matrix to work today as we have to go to canmore to pick something up after work (save gas $$ ya know)
Anyway, thought i could push through the snowbank to park on the side street near work. Car has plus size, studded Hakks, what could go wrong?
    AAAAnd stuck. 7am, -15deg. Fuck.
Ol steel toe boots got most of the snow from underneath, still stuck
Floor mats under tires, still stuck
Ice scraper to reach more snow further under the car. Still stuck.
Cold, wet, not pissed off yet though.
    Keep digging.
A kind soul finally pulled over, gave me the push I needed, and wished me a Merry Xmas.
Really nice to see and hear about people helping each other in such a messed up time. Funny how something a simple as snowmageddon can help us remember whats really important.

There's still lots of good folks, I'd say majority are good, bad apples are just what you hear more of.

    Merry Christmas everyone!

I had the dog at the dog park already. Throwing a ham on soon and don't plan to leave the house again, except to deliver a couple meals to family.

My sons buddy came by today and said if I moved my truck he’d plow my spot out ( score ) . Then I took the dog for a walk and brushed off my wife’s van . It’s not too bad here , it snowed all night and it’s -6 ( 21 F ) nice Christmas Day .

Merry Christmas to all of you!

My turkey is coming along nicely in the oven ( My wife does 99% of the cooking but I usually do most of turkey dinners) and it’s time for a few minutes of downtime before the final rush to make it all come together.

No boxing day shopping for us in WPG. Essential services shopping restrictions are in place

Fine by me. I'll hit the dog park and then watch Wold Juniors Hockey and eat junk all day.
