I’m having an aluminum tub built to go on it, for hunting, camping...

It will have a checkerplate lid that a boat rack can attach to as well.

I’m hoping to haul a bison, elk, or both with it here in another month. It’s built to take it.

Nice! That would explain the heavy frame! That would be a life saver pulling a quartered moose out the trees.

That’s the plan, Dan the man. :D

The frame is 2x2” tubing, but .100” wall, so not crazy heavy. The axle tube is 1/4” wall with 2000 lb square axle stubs welded in.

Almost 2 weeks ago, I got a letter from EI "directing" (their words...) me to attend a meeting on the 17th to discuss my "responsibilities" as an EI recipient and to show evidence of looking for work such as contact info for places I've dropped off resumes, copies of applications filled out etc. Jackasses.

Firstly, the EI money paid to me is MY fucking money, deducted from MY fucking paycheques. I feel I'm entitled to the full amount deducted off my paycheques for the last 15 years of my working career, during which I might add, I have only ever used EI for a total of 6 months of tradeschool training.

Secondly, I haven't used a resume or filled out an application to get a job in 10+ years. It doesn't work that way in my industry. It's almost all word of mouth and boots on the ground. I don't keep a record of every 2 minute conversation I have when I bump into someone I know in the industry at the store and say "Hey man, I'm looking for work. Need another guy/your boss hiring/know of any work coming up?"

Anyways, 2 days after that letter arrived I got a call from the company that laid me off end of June saying they probably had some work coming up and if I was able to plan to come back. On Monday, he called again I'm back to work next week. I blew off the government meeting. Fuck em with a barbed wire wrapped baseball bat. :D

    A bunch
It's ridiculous that you have to 'look' for work by sending out resume's. I know guys who had jobs lined up but weren't gonna start for 3 months so they decided to take some of the EI they paid. They too got the call that they have to prove they're looking for work. They just sent BS resume's to totally different fields for crazy high positions.

Yeah, if I was going to be sitting for much longer I'd start firing resumes at all sorts of random crap. I remember one job I worked at as a teenager and we had a guy come in to drop off a resume. He walked up the counter, handed me a piece of paper, said "here's my resume" and walked out. It was his name, phone number and "I need a job" scawled in red crayon on a piece of green construction paper. Since we weren't the Marine Corps, he wasn't hired. :D

I totally get it now why he did it though. Gotta appease the gubbermint drones who have no idea what the real world is like.

No shit. I pay into the system for 15 years and have to justify using it when I need it. Meanwhile, millions of people leech off the system for decades without contributing a thing.

Thanks, I'm pretty happy to be going back to work. Figure I'll weld until The Woman is done school then pull the plug and switch to a different trade. :)

Passed my drug test today. Was there any doubt? LOL

Apparently they also wanted a "fit to work" test. So nice to be surprised with "hey, do pushups, situps and planks now" first thing in the morning.

Typical gooberment bureaucrats. Completely out of touch with the real world.

WCB isn’t any better. My wife’s partner at work blew her ankle out a month ago- hit a hole running full tilt. Multiple trips to the doc, still no diagnosis. Still black and blue and swollen. They say they can’t tell how extensive the damage is until swelling goes down. WCB was calling her, wanting her back at work the first week. Ridiculous.

Couple pics from my mountain trip. Saw lots of critters, but didn’t take any home. Tundra drug bottom a few times and got a little dirty... ;) DC82050A-C1DE-4447-BFF7-E384B78E5F37.jpg 87628387-895D-4AAB-A1AB-0B7DCBD4B7F1.jpg9E1C4349-D5B6-412C-B570-94D913FE55C5.jpg

I must say I love your truck. The first time I saw Quicksand I thought ‘I need that in my life’. That’s why we chose it for the horse trailer and the truck eventually haha. :hattip:

That place is definitely not family-friendly for access. ;) But lots of beautiful spots in the SW to take the family! Message me if you’re ever headed down south. :)
