Anyone in Canada buy a 20' or so RV lately

We have fallen in love with the layout and features of the Grand Design Imagine 15BH. It isn't perfect, but the best we have found. No slides, full queen, dining area, solar package, full sink, fridge, freezer

I'd prefer dual axel for safety and stability but have used single axel for 15y with no issues, one flat and it wasn't a catastrophe.

Anyways, the Canadian dealer MSRP is likely going to be around $46k (based on similar models that have the same USA MSRP. The dealer quoted me a few different models, same make, size but different floor plan and emailed a price of $39k + tax, starter pack (whatever that BS is).

I was thinking of offering $29,900. Which would be the online recommended 35% off. I'd stand firm on that and see what they say or counter with and be happy with $32k but feel $39k (15% off is far too little).

We will be buying it outright, no financing. So they won't make any money on us via interest but would be willing to add on a warranty (maybe) or indoor storage plan (as dealer is 15min from house).

We have looked for used, but haven't seen anything. Out last used one is 15y used by is and on its last legs. It was $12k well spent. We would Kijiji that one for $2-3k as it is a fixer upper.

    Thoughts or advice?

Sounds like you know what you're doing. I can't really offer you any advice but good luck with it.

Thanks ! The new work truck with the 8ft box is like driving a bus . Same turning radius ! Other than that the engine has been strong , no mechanical or electrical issues . Voltage meter fkes up and goes from 12v to 14+ when you left off throttle sometimes ,, odd lol . Tows like a train ! My maintenance crew uses the truck all summer and they’re towing 14ft trailer loaded with 0 turn mower , 48” walk behind , 24” mower , trimmers , blowers . All the shit for our property maintenance crew . Works well and the app is great for keeping track of employees movements . Shhhhhhh don’t tell them plz lol

I'd look to buy from Ontario, practically people stopped buying last year, so tons of brand new 2023 left over, most warranty is offered via manufacturer, and most are pretty reasonable if you find a shop near you willing to do the work and they just bill them, that's how mine was fixed when I went through the wiring fiasco last year.

Example, I bought our Winnebago from these guys, amazing prices, terrible service:
    https://www.layzeeacres.com/vehicle...ew&v2=Travel Trailer&le=20-29&mk=Grand Design

the 24SDS is now 50% off MSRP

I was bitching to the wife how an HD diesel is so expensive, but I wonder if someone is going to pay $140k+ taxes for a GX550.

I have been PM'ing with @Downytide this past week and he has helped a bunch.

We went to look at a few Winnibegos today and a second look at some GD Imagine. The Winnibego won for features, layout, build quality, dual axel, price discount (it's a new 2022).

I'm close to agreeing on this little setup. 17', no slide, solar, power everything, dual axel, good ground clearance, huge fridge/freezer.

It'll be our first new trailer.

I'd argue GP is one of the best towns in AB now. :notsure: Big changes since I moved here in 2011.

This one is 12v only unfortunately. Our old one was propane and electricity.

We will add a second solar panel and likely a second 12v Battery when we replace the current one though.

Ya unfortunately, I believe they are all going that way but I could be wrong.
Last year we bought our first new trailer and same thing. I did get an extra battery, but I do want an extra solar panel, ours came with 200w.

Do you guys think someone would want a used 38gallon tank? trying to make a case with myself that I can sell the stock gas tank to subsidize the costs if I get the transferflow tank.

There are often people that want the bigger tank to upgrade from 26 gal. It should sell.

When I had my 2015 I did the switch to 38gallon tank which I found from a tundra in a scrap yard. So I’d imagine someone would want it. Never know.

They have some "scratched and dent" units available and I'm tempted.

I've heard about this, I think eventually they will just give folks who fall into that year range extended warranty on the engine, probably up to 7 years and 160k km, currently its 5 years and 100k km.

I think overall there's 100k Tundra under recall on this, but then I've seen 2024s with spun bearing with delivery miles.
