yea, he alluded to the reduced towing capacity, due to their need for special licencing after a certain weight. I think he said 4500kgs is the rating being applied which is only just under 10k lbs. It would be good for them if the raised the payload with that.

Yeah, and I think my payload sticker if I recall, for Ltd TRD OR crewmax 5.5 ft is 1400lbs, (maybe 1410?) which is 635 kgs. Im surprised with a 122L tank on a limited. mine is 132 - didnt think the 122 was on anything other than an SR

I hear the doctor situation is no so great there even though the cost of living is low. You should check that out.

Have you considered Kingston/Prince Edward County area? Costs a bit more but that area has so much to offer. I lived there for 9 years but had to move for work. Once I retire I'd like to go back.

@Mattedfred you certainly have done your research. I only asked because I did the same, and although a family connection was a bigger factor, the ‘rocks, lake & trees - cidiots’ was big on my list. :)

I wound up getting land in Cape Breton - kinda glad I didnt start building yet with this winter! Family close by softened the rocks & lakes part of my list, but instead I have rocks & ocean nearby, so kinda close!

West is Best. :D Couldn't pay me enough to retire out east. Manitoba is as far east as I ever care to go again, I like the Canadian Shield country. There's some good fishing there.

Alberta and Manitoba have nothing on Ontario lakes. We may have the mountains, but they have the lakes.

Meh. I'll take BC lakes all day long over Ontario lakes. Clean, clear and usually surrounded by mountains.

I came from an area know as the “30000 Islands” in Ontario, the water was clear, warm and surrounded by sun baked rock.
Its a boating and swimming paradise. BC lakes are pretty, but more often then not freezing cold and small.
I do agree though, no way I would ever move back to Ontario.

Manitoba has some fantastic lakes. And our sunsets are pretty amazing (something mountains take away).

it’s all good country in terms of nature and beauty. Mountains are awesome. Manitoba sunsets and lakes, are awesome, Ontario too. East coast is spectacular (but they talk funny).

i would buy a new snow mobile, dirt bike, adventure bike, hot tub, and a decent used truck for thAt price. Way more adventure per dollar than any of those trucks could provide.

I did the ol Algonquin high school paddle trip, 3 nights, 4 days with food made by my classmates.
I filed it under an “experience”, consisting of much suffering and mild enjoyment.
