Gawd...so sick of that weed crap. LOL. This is pretty much verbatim a conversation I had about 4 times today at work:

Coworker: "Hey dude...weed is legal soon!!!"

    Me: "Yeah, and?"

CW: "So it's like legal man."

Me: "No shit Sherlock. I read the news too. Why are you bothering me?"

CW: "Cause it's finally legal man!!"

Me: "One, I never have and never will touch the stuff. Two, you remember that morning meeting we just had where HR addressed this issue? Yeah...nothing's changing. You'll still have to piss test to get hired and you'll still have to piss test if you're involved in an incident. In both cases, you better not have THC in your system."

CW: "Whaaa? They can't do that! It's gonna be legal!!"

Me: "Yeah, legal like booze kinda. You know how you can't have alcohol in your system at wor...no, you probably don't. The intelligence level of this discussion is precisely why I don't associate with pot smokers. Good day to you sir" :hattip:

    CW:

Fuckin' welders. Can't wait to work with people who think of things other than drugs, booze and hookers....:frusty:

I'm not bitter at all.

By no means do I consider it the answer to life's problems but, I think it's well overdue, prohibition straight doesn't work. We might as well collect tax dollars via its revenue stream. In my experience it does seem far less harmful and destructive than alternatives like alcohol.

Nice little 18’. Should pull nicely. Wanted a small one so we can pull it all over the place coast to coast.

It's not as dramatic and big scale as Alberta seems like it is to me but we have a lot of really nice places, even a hour north of me is wicked wheeler trails and deeep bush.

It’s not too bad. It’s quite large. The lake is relatively small. We don’t camp there cause we usually camp off the grid, but a lot of people I know camp there every year spot can’t be that bad. One of our favorite is Yellowhead Lake just across the BC border from us.

I mostly agree with you, though I have issues with the way this legislation is written but we'll leave it at that. In a nutshell, I'm a libertarian at heart. If a gay couple wants to defend their pot plants from the government with full auto M60's and RPG's, I have no issue with it. I just find pot culture tedious and really don't understand why people at work insist in interrupting my work flow to jabber on about something that is well known in the shop I don't partake in. Maybe I'll go talk their ears off about fly fishing tomorrow... :D

It's all good my friend. I needed my little hissy fit. :angrygirl:

Any tips for semi-hidden camping and fly fishing stops in the area? I may be headed through there over the long weekend on my way to Kamloops and would likely stop in the Hinton area to break the drive up. We've done Wild Horse Lake but at $23 per night, and packed on a long weekend they can get stuffed.

It has a steep learning curve and the rabbit holes you can go down with it are endless but it's real fishing imho. I fly fish 90% of the time when I'm fishing. The key to avoiding frustration when learning is two fold: Don't buy a cheap combo set up from Crappy Tire etc. Go to a real fishing store, talk to their fly guy and have him set you up. Secondly, find someone to at least teach you the basics. I'm pretty well completely self taught, but having a mentor would have been so so much easier.

Nice! That’s my goal this summer to learn how to fly fish. Would Bass pro shop be a good place for fish store?!

Bass Pro Would probably be a decent place to go with no other options. If you're going to Bass Pro in Calgary, you may as well skip it and hit up a couple of the actual fly shops in the city. Bow River Troutfitters, Iron Bow Fly Shop, Out Fly Fishing Outfitters or Fish Tales Fly Shop. Those shops would have guys who really know fly fishing inside and out. You may pay a little bit more (independent vs big box) but you'll get way better service and knowledge from them.

I don’t know any fly fishing spots sorry. I still have to get into fishing... As far as camping goes, try Emerson lakes. Might be good for fishing too? Cool little spot north of highway 16 about have way between Edson and Hinton. There is a small hike nearby to local hoodoos. Pretty neat
