Hey fellas figured I would check here. Got a bearing going in my rear differential, so I'm trying to track down a full used diff if I can, otherwise have to get the internals. If anyone knows some sites for us Canucks or someone who knows whom has one let me know.

Nov 11 today folks. Take a moment and think about those who serve, have served and will serve. Especially remember those who gave their all.

Dunno how many members we have here from southwestern BC, but I hope y'all are staying dry. The lower mainland is completely cut off from the rest of BC. Normally I'd say "GOOD!", but the level of destruction is nasty.

For those of us inland, I'd recommend hitting Costco and grocery stores ASAP. All non-air transport of goods from the port of Vancouver is at a standstill. Trucks and trains aren't getting through any time soon.

I’m all good here, we had more than ample rain and pretty heavy winds yesterday, but nothing like some areas even pretty close by. We didn’t even loose power.

I currently work for a trucking fleet shop, we have trucks and trailers stranded all over, and lots parked due to closed highways. One tractor-trailer unit is in a line of stranded vehicles being shown in photos and videos all over the news. The driver was rescued by boat this morning.

Me thinks it will be quite some time before Hwy 5 (Coq) and Hwy 1 through the canyon reopen to any traffic.

My parents have been on a visiting trip. They just left my place and are headed to Prince George. They’ll be flying back home to Abbotsford if the highway isn’t clear in a few days. Btw, both West jet and air Canada have nearly tripled their prices for flights. Gouging scum.

    Random Canadian thing:

Boston Pizza takeout containers are great for storing parts in the garage. Sturdy enough to hold those left over bolts that you might need one day.

We don't do overpriced Boston Pizza, although their lunch menu isn't bad....but we do recycle/reuse the Mary Browns Poutine containers. Same material as the BP ones, but flatter and rounder, great for taking leftovers to work.

The only thing I miss about BP is those schooner beers, they were massive. Dont think they even sell them anymore?

Well, our grocery store has no meat...

Wait, shouldn't all our meat be coming from Alberta?

    It should be...

I stocked up at Costco last Monday. Put a few hundred bucks of meat in the freezer. Figured the panic buying would start with the news of flooding in SW BC despite it not really having an serious effect on AB products. Just another reason to finally get around to lining up a local rancher/butcher to buy direct from and cut out the big box retail stores.

The signs in the store specifically say they're having trouble getting chicken, pork and beef in from BC. I didn't notice shortages of anything else. Maybe I need to start shopping at a different store.

There is a looming strike at Cargill foods. This is supposed to happen in early December. Good times ahead.

Uh... so... um... you were worried about panic buying so you stocked up? Isn't that kind of panic buying too? :anonymous:

No judgements, with inflation and lack of supply, everyone needs to do what they think is best to provide for their family.

Agreed, no judgements and frankly I was doing the same thing for my family. This is just conversation among people in the same situation.

I also realized I grabbed extra toilet paper, ketchup and other things I didn't plan to and my wife asked: "so did you panic buy?" And maybe I was.

That's fair. I stocked up but I wouldnt say it was panic buying. We were almost due for our regular costco run so i did it a few days earlier than planned. I bought our regular stuff and a few extra. Only 1 pack of toilet paper. :D

Vote on contract: rejected by 98%. Puts the union in a position to strike as early as Dec 6.

Gross. I'd rather have a foot of snow than freezing rain. It's -6 here in FSJ right now. Supposed to be pretty warm all week.

Yeah, it can be nasty. Aside from looking cool in the morning, it's awful. Can't drive, walk or go for a run. Luckily, it's zero today, so most of it has melted already.
It was a skating rink last night. I was at home since late afternoon and again today.

I even called one of the kids (the truck lover) out to view it on the truck after I was done putting a bit of sand on the walkway.
