When you go with an aftermarket unit, can you still adjust the settings that are normally found on the OEM head unit?

I was wondering the same thing b/c thinking about getting a Kenwood. Not that you ever really need to touch those options once they are set...
Someone on TundraCrew posted about an OBD2 device called Carista that lets you do this. The pricing structure is weird, $20 for the device, then either $9.99 for one week to futz with stuff, or $40 a year - but I think all these OBD2 makers are going subscription model just like Automatic
You could also get the Techstream every one talks about, but you have to have an older laptop or something.

I have a Kenwood and I am unable to find those factory settings. However, the truck did keep the settings that I had with the factory radio. My suggestion would be to set it on the factory head unit to whatever settings you like best, and then it should retain them when you connect a new head unit.
