    Wow...that's appalling.
Officially not buying a Jeep ever now. I always knew they were pieces of shit but the fact that an issue like that was ever released to the public destroys the 2% chance I was ever going to get one.

Your PCS should not have that many false positives. Maybe try taking it to another dealer or asking your existing one to escalate to this issue to the regional quality representative. Depending on your state you may even have lemon laws that will get their attention if they fail to repair an issue after 3 tries.

The radar behind the grill and the camera in the windshield need to be calibrated for the PCS to work properly. Potentially one of these units needs to be replaced, or it was not calibrated properly during production. A mis-calibrated radar would certainly have many false positives like you are experiencing. If you can get it to mis-activate in the same spot as described above, try taking video of it from inside the cab while driving. Then you can show them the video to hopefully get some attention. You should not have to physically block the camera to keep the PCS from throwing multiple false positives during normal driving.

Sounds like someone's never experienced the joy of their new truck slamming on the brakes out of nowhere for a non-existent 'safety' threat :)

I was going ~60mph the first time it happened and nearly sh*t myself. Thank god nobody was immediately behind me.

You haven't lived if you didn't put your truck in Reverse, and opened your driver side front door while backing up!

We had our back neighbor's jeep pop out of park in his driveway and roll down the hill thru my fence and into my next door neighbor's yard where it hit a tree. Luckily nobody was hurt and most of the damage was to the jeep.

I know this post is a little old, but I was trying to turn off PCS with Techstream, or at least have it "Store the State" of pcs. That option does not show up under customization on TS v.18.0... What version are you using?
    Thanks

I didn’t spend the money to just swap out stuff.
This also prevents you from getting the brakes slammed when someone purposefully cuts you off. It's a thing with Teslas that's been spreading. Just cut them off, no need to brake check, Tesla will brake itself. Same here with the Tundra.

Allow me to rebut, please. :)

Jeeps ARE pieces of shit. Not "were". They "were" fabulous vehicles in their time. I own an excellent example of the most capable Jeep ever made, and the last one worth owning: the 2006 TJ.

Jeep committed suicide the following year, taking along with them the legendary 4L AMC straight six engine.

Now they truly ARE pieces of shit, full of nanny gear, and little rubber ducks.

I just want to get TS working properly for this and a few other settings. Not interested in going to a dealer for anything. Used Carista initially, but I would think TS should be able to do anything Carista can do, and a whole lot more.

Too bad I can't use a burner account to get another trial on carista - tried. Will have to use the partners phone.

Resurrecting this thread again. Has anyone successfully disabled PCS permanently through Tech Stream or other method? Had a buddy get a snowplow installed on his 23 Platinum and even with PCS disabled in his dash menu, the truck still doesn't want to cooperate. The truck will make it about 50' at speeds less than 10 mph and it will jack the brakes. I know of two other guys in town with plows on 22 SR5's and they don't have any issues.

And if he just pushes the lower dash button? Still brakes?

Correct. Any dash menu sequence or pushing the lower dash button does not disable the feature completely and it will still apply braking for some reason.

Was an answer ever located to disable this? I am trying to install a snow plow on a 2022 Limited and the brakes lock up every time we move forward. So frustrating. I have tried turning off the PCS in the dash, but it doesn't work. Any suggestions welcome!

Very odd. My 23’s PCS does not apply the brakes when turned off with the lower dash button. (and it doesn’t reset to On with every start cycle) It still alerts/beeps when I pull up to or back up to anything but no slamming in the brakes. No option in Carista to disable it. Did you try Tow/Haul mode? Its supposed to disable at least the rear sensors so you can back up to your trailer (per the manual). Maybe the fronts are off too? Some here have reported it works, and others not. You’d think for applications like yours Toyota would have to be able to disable it somehow. I wondered if winching equip or a tow strap out front, if you had hooks, would also set it off.
