I am a tad confused now. I have 295/70 R18 nitto terra's and i didnt see anything visually that seemed different from what i thought was stock...

What would be required to run that set? Bare minimum i guess?

I have 275/70 R18 KO2s on mine. ADS suspension - about 3.25" up front and 1" in rear. My wheels are +30 offset. That wheel/tire combo fit fine when I was at stock height prior to the lift. tundra.jpg

Do you have any more pics of your truck, maybe from the front as well? I have a pretty similar setup with a 2” lift, curious how the 3” would look if i don’t bump up to 295’s.

I don't have any good ones from the front. I attached one more focused on the BHLM I did for the headlights, and another angle of my truck after the lift.

Thanks for all the replies and pics. Anyone with stock 2nd gen 2WD running LT275/70/R18 tires? I got some Falkens on what appears to be a good deal. Hoping they fit without any rubbing issues. My only real concern is the upper control arm or the spring just under it rubbing against the inner side of the tire. Thanks to all.

It won’t rub the UCA or the spring. Those tires are the same width as the stock size.

Hey 15, thank you for the reply. I am going to run it in the calc, but just going off the basics...my 2nd gen comes with P255/70/R18 tires. Just using falcons own specs that tire is 10.2 inches. The spec on the LT275/70/R18 tire is 11.3. So that puts us at .5 inches wide on either side. That seems like almost nothing. The tire would have to be much taller to hit the UCA i would think (because the tire starts curving in as it goes up). So my only real concern is the spring.

As as exercise in though...let's say im in mid mount and they are going to rub...where would i shop to get a spacer on very short notice? There is a 4 x 4 shop in town here...Chattanooga, TN. Any other places that would have something that quick just .5 inch or so? Thanks again...I appreciate your reply.

You shouldn’t need a spacer. The size I posted in the tire calculator is my stock tire size and the larger one you were thinking about. Both of our trucks came with the same (for the most part) suspension. Same ride height etc.
I’m going to assume you’re wheels have a +60 offset the same as mine. If anything I would be more concerned with the tire rubbing the top of the wheel well during compression. But I think many have fit this size tire on their stock trucks. If anything let the tire shop try them on and you could check the clearances for yourself. Then make a decision based off of that. I think there are also quite a few that fit the 295 70 18 on stock wheels without hitting the UCA. Obviously these folks have a lift but that doesn’t change the clearances on the control arms or spring.

275 70/R18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on Fuel Trophy +20 Offset. Bilstein 6112s on the middle setting, 5160s in the rear at stock height. Sits about dead level. Had a little rubbing in reverse at full lock - front flaps removed and used a heat gun to massage the plastic away from the tires. No UCA rub or other mods to the suspension since it sits at the 'magic height" of below 3". No diff drop or skid plate spacers needed. Very happy with the ride.

Thanks again 15...and you were right. I got the LT 275/70/R18 in and they fit without any clearance issue. I have attached pics, hoping they upload without an issue. If so I will re-upload.

Edit to add though...my plastic wheel center caps burst on contact. I was in the shop. Took nothing for them to shatter. I will have to hit up ebay or something to get them replaced.

Not the greatest angle. But Falken Wildpeak A/T. Probably won’t buy again due to the weight of them but they perform well.

Thanks for the input...What about the weight is the turn off? I just got these on my 5.7. Most tires are going to be around the same 60-70 at that size I would think.

It seemed that as soon as I switched from the stock Michelin’s to these my mileage went down 3mpg.... that’s quite a bit.

@sonusfaber discount tire says 61 for falken and 53 for Nitto Terragrappler G2. That’s 32 pounds which doesn’t seem like much but I imagine it could play a pretty big difference. BUT the falkens were so cheap. After selling stock tires and rebates they came out to 500$:rofl:

Are there any tires in this size or 285/65r18 with a standard load rating? Everything I've seen has an E1 load rating, which obviously is why these are all so freaking heavy. I want to bump up a size but also don't want to take a huge MPG hit just because they're so heavy.
