i have a 19 limited and put the 18 TRD Pro and AJT relocation bracket in my truck nearly 3 years ago. I occasionally get a failure under heavy rain or snow, but I don't think I've had one at all in the last year, rock solid. Has worked well for me and I like the 2018 grill better than the honeycomb.

Can I ask what specific "failures" you've experienced?
Also, can I ask where u got ur grill from? I'm trying to install the pro insert on my 2018..thanks

In heavy Rain or Snow occasionally my TSS Sensor would shut off and I'd get a warning on my screen that said "clean sensor" or something like that. It was actually more sensitive when I first installed, and almost switched back. Hasn't shut off in over a year and I use it daily (60,000 miles on the truck already). I believe I got the full grill from Sparks dealership when they were offerrering free shipping, made a big difference. Good luck.

my 21 SR5 had the same issues with the stock grille and actually got a little better/less frequent with the TRD pro grille i put in.

IMO I think it is more of a sensor thing than a grille/location thing.
