Looking at a CM LTD from a non-Toyota dealer. Can I purchase thru Toyota their 7/100k warranty still, or does the truck have to be at a Toyota dealership? Does it have to be a Toyota CPO?

    Thanks guys...

As I understand it, the truck must still be covered under the original warranty and you'll have to buy the warranty from a local Toyota dealer.

Dealer has to inspect truck for warranty.

3/36 expires in May 2017. So I can take it to a local Toyota dealer, have them inspect, get a thumbs up and then purchase the 7/100?

Possibly. Give them a call first. I was able to get my extended warranty while still under warranty

I did not get an extended warranty at purchase, but my dealer finance guy told me to see him any time before the warranty runs out to buy it. He did the same thing when he bought his Tundra before he started working there.

Might be easier to just post up in here lol

You can buy out of state which is a nice savings on tax alone - not a lot of people know that or even have that thought cross their mind.

I emailed a total of 43 dealerships IIRC,
My best deal came from the gentlemen below.

I know you have done all the leg work and we all appreciate that. Can you let us know what truck you have and what you paid so we can see if we are getting the same great deal you did. Totally understand if you don't feel comfortable posting the price here. Thanks much......

I purchased mine today, both the truck and the 7/100 warranty. 14' CM Limited 27k miles - and negotiated the warranty as an integral part of the purchase - paid $1340. Not sure if that's good or not, but a couple of other places I checked ranged from 1800 - 2350, so I'm happy with the relatively inexpensive peace of mind that goes with a Platinum bumper to bumper...

That is a darn good price!

I asked my local dealership if they would do a 100-200k mile warranty after Toyota Care ran out at 100k. They quoted me 2700.00

Out of respect to the transaction I will not post up pricing. I did just get off the phone With Brian, all I will say is that he sells the coverage at his cost.

To help get a ball park idea...
I paid less for an 8yr/100k than FlynFamily did on his 7yr/100k.

    My trucks a 2014 Tundra CM SR5 5.7l 4x4

FlynFamily still did very well on his deal, I was getting quotes ranging between $1500-$2800.

It took him a couple days to get back, then we played a little bit of phone tag.

If I remember correctly, he did tell me that he was going to be out of the office due to the holidays. That or end of the year just has them slammed with sales.

Hopefully he geta back to you guys soon.

Some of the local dealerships I tried to deal with took up to a week to respond, whatever that may be worth.

Anybody actually had to use the extended warranty on their truck? Was Toyota quick to get you in and resolve the problem to your satisfaction? Just wondering if because it is under warranty, if they put you to the back of the line for service?

I bought 6 yr 75k mile warranty for $1000 when I bought my truck a few months ago. It is a 2014 with 19000 miles. I figured it is enough for the time I will own the tundra before I trade it for a new one. Platinum coverage. It appears that they can vary the time and mileage and you can negotiate price (they started at $1800). Was told I can cancel anytime for a pro-rated refund.

Dang, Steve! I tend to shy away from warranties that may live longer than me LOL! Seriously, that should provide plenty of peace of mind! What all is covered in that warranty?

I understand......I keep my trucks forever as well. My last truck lasted me from 1997 until 2015, Ha! My wife has lasted me 45 years but is starting to show signs of wear. May be time for an upgrade or at least add some mods....

Thanks guys! I'm signing up for a 8-year/75,000-mile TFS VSA due to the low annual mileage that I use my truck. Brian is sending me the paperwork.

A personal side benefit for me is that I can cancel the private roadside assistance program we had before purchasing new vehicles (yes, I've used it several times and already used ToyotaCare). My TFS VSA will cost less per year than my previous roadside assistance program subscription did. I know this isn't the case for most, but thought I'd pass this on.
