Love your build! I'd love to see more of your manual hub swap. That was the first question I asked when I joined this forum. Also how does the aluminum utility shell stand up to off-roading? Especially versus a fiberglass shell.

Just got back from a week long camping trip at Hell Hole. We cought well over 100 trout. Did a lot of wheeling and ripping around the atv's.20181009_180048.jpg 20181011_164753.jpg 20181011_172128.jpg 20180929_105234.jpg 20180929_105611.jpg 2018-09-24 08.20.49.jpg 20181013_091222.jpg 20181014_103337.jpg 20181010_183259.jpg 20181012_124204.jpg 20181010_154926.jpg

I'm having a hard time squaring the name of the place with the pictures you've posted.

Also, how'd your Tundra do on the "Jeep Trail?" When I hear "Jeep trail" I think of something too narrow for a Tundra. Maybe that just the PWN in me, though. Great pictures.

I only made it part of the way with my truck on the Jeep Trail before having to turn around.

The Jeep Trail is definitely narrow. I got to a spot that I'm not even sure how a Jeep would even fit through. We ended up going back the next day with side by sides and quads and made it all the way around.

Can you share the benefit of installing 05-06 tundra intake retrofit swap?
    Thanks.

Sorry I don’t get notifications here. Anyways. The manual hub is from a first gen Tacoma. I took the hub and axles. Hybrid them with my tundra spindle and axles

The aluminum sell holds up pretty good. I just like that I can drill holes in it and use he internal frame to mount stuff.

The 00-04 tundra plenum is fixed as a long runner while the 05-06 tundra plenum is a variable runner. 00-04 doesn’t have the ability to control the vsv that operates the variable runner. So I just took the vsv out and hooked it directly letting just vacuum control when the runners switch from long to short. I have noticed a little more pull at lower rpms. It doesn’t take much vacuum before it switches to short runners and you basically in the short runner setting anytime you have more than 15% throttle if I had to guess.

I thought it was possible. The parts look the same. Hubs were available up until 2000 I believe. Not positive tho.
I'll probably go with an aluminum shell with the double rear doors. I really want a Four Wheel Camper but damn they're expensive.

Do you have a link tutorial on this modification? In the meantime, I’ll search. Thank you.

Sorry I do not. It’s only easy to be retrofitted on go 03-04 tundra and sequoia

You need everything from 05-06 tundra or 05-07 Sequoia

Of the top of my head

plenum (as much stuff attached to it)
    TB
    Fuel rails

You’ll want to bypass the vsv under the plenum and just connect the two vacuum hoses together.

Disconnect the battery. Remove your original Plenum, fuel rail and TB

You’ll need to install your original injectors into the new fuel rail and plenum.

Also swap the fuel pressure regulator so the original fuel system can be hooked back up

Now this is the time of you like to just bypass the TB coolant lines and run it back into the engine block.

Now you can reinstall the newer plenum assembly.

Once installed. You need to hook up the brake booster. Might need to extend the vacuum hose.

The vacuum hose under the plenum near the TB is used for the power steering vacuum idle up. You’ll need to use a reducer to connect the two different size hoses.

Install the newer TB upside down and hook up the vacuum hoses. Hook up the PCV and Anything else that was disconnected.

Now fire it up and check for any fuel and air leaks. On first test drive and first few hundred miles. Drive it easy till the ecu relearns.

The biggest noticeable difference with this retrofit is how much better throttle response is. Feels like it woke the truck up. Over time this feeling becomes normal but you still remember/feel better throttle response.

First post here! This is a little throwback to my first camping trip I ever took a year and a half ago. This was in Johnson Valley after I had first gotten my suspension and work done on my truck. I was addicted after this! Going to superstition next weekend for a quick trip with some friends!
