Any advice for straightening out rear leaf springs on my 02’? Drivers side was slightly splayed/fanned (1/4”) out for years. Passenger side also. Now with my new 5100’s on all 4 corners, starting to notice a side slippy feel during cornering going up on inclines.

Went under and seems the driver side has splayed abit more than it was an additional 1/4” (now at 1/2”).

I want to put on some leaf u-bolts to secure the leafs (existing oem clips are slightly bent open allowing the situation), but need advice on getting these things straightened first so the new u-bolts supports can slide on.

Use a large C clamp on the sides of the springs to straighten them. Also check the condition and tightness of your u bolts, splayed leafs is a sign of loose u bolts.

Thanks. Fabbed a clamp with nuts and bolts. Tightened the ends and brought it back home (close). U-bolts were tight! Think the splay happened from carrying heavy loads.

Love that color. I think 2000 was the only year they made it. I almost drove up to Ohio to buy one a while back, but it didn't have a towing package

I made it. The end pieces where the lights are were from a move bumper I had on it at one time, other than that everything else it homemade.

Clean looking rig. This picture captures it at the perfect angle and aspect. Also, there's nothing better than cooking atop a Coleman 424 in the woods.

Thanks, just picked it up about 2 weeks ago. 144k and totally happy with it so far. Had the Coleman for almost 20 years....never getting rid of it.

Angle iron over the bed side on the edge with four bolts through holes in the top. I'm not against drilling holes when needed.

Anyone know a easy OHV site in Southern Cal (preferably)???? I want to start doing some camping off OHV sites but want to start real basic, like on fire trails. No serious 4x4'r here. Just want to be out in nature and not stuck.
