    I did a couple nights in Joshua Tree this weekend. Almost 200 miles through the entire park solo. Damaged one tire sidewall, one hairy U-turn, and partied with some random hippies from LA. Overall one badass weekend!

    Trails I ran:
    Berdoo Canyon
    Gold mine
    Black Eagle Mine
    Geology Tour
    Old Dale
    Pinkham Canyon
    Thermal Canyon
    Random trails exploring the mines on the east side of the park
    Random BLM trails along the I-10 freeway. I had fun trying to pace the freeway traffic on dirt

    the rattlers are everywhere this year. But I didn't run across any last weekend. In fact, I usually don't see them in the desert. they do a good job of staying out of sight. Different story when I am mountain biking. the shrubs and trees make for close calls. There have been several times over the last few years I thought I was getting bit for sure.
