I think the question you need to first ask yourself is if battery capacity is an issue. If it’s not, then fill the extra space with foam/pool noodles.. whatever.

But if battery capacity is a semi-concern, then you’re going to want to use something else. Not sure if this will work for you since most of my ventures are day trips, but I have 6 semi-robust plastic jugs that I keep in there filled with potable water. When I’m originally packaging the fridge I fill the extra space with those and will bring 1 or two with me (pre-chilled). As I use up cans, I’ll eventually replace that space with another jug. Makes it so my fridge doesn’t have to work as hard (easier on my battery).

Nope, not an issue. Fridge runs off the alternator when the engine is on and when it's off it runs on the 120ah secondary battery. I'm also adding two permanently attached 100 watt solar panels to the under side of my bed rack that will be attached via drawer slides so that it can pop out over the tailgate and double as a sun shade.

Nice. Foam sounds like a good option then

Good idea with the slide out serving as a sun shade.. hadn't thought of that:thumbsup:

Can you do me a favor? When you receive your fridge can you take a picture of the packaging it was in and post in on here?
I ordered a Dometic fridge (not a CFX though) during Black Friday and it arrived damaged, they sent another and it arrived damaged, then they sent a 3rd and it too arrived damaged. The fridge came in a box but had no foam or anything.

Nice! I would have gotten that one instead of the JP40 but it's too big for my fridge slide.

For those who have made platforms for fridge; do you pull those 2 rubber (square) grommets?

I want to make a basic platform to hold my fridge behind the driver seat long ways. Looks like I can mount a platform to the factory seat brackets and make a L shape to the floor where people’s feet sit for support.

just want to get ideas on where exactly you guys braced the platform too. I want it totally module so if I need to pull my fridge out; I can have the platform be removed quickly.

    many thanks!

Not bad but not my best work. Will perfect a full platform soon for my fridge and dogs.

FYI, if you used that code you'll get a free LED lantern. Mine was delivered separately like a day after the fridge and I thought they sent it by mistake at first.

Took out the passenger side seat and made a little platform. Uses the factory seat bracket bolts on the rear wall and the middle bolts go through the pads that the bottom of the seat rests on.

I like it already! The cans are held pretty snug in the tray. It took a couple weeks to arrive from China though.
I wish I could've put all 8 next to each other but the 7th one in the middle works out just fine limiting the other trays' movement. I can also put 2 more trays on top, if I want, for a total of 10.
