I got the Arb element. Its weather proof and can be in mounted in the bed uncovered.
Lots of great reviews. the stainless steel looks nice too.
@osidepunker has an Arb 83qt he uses

Of course ARB and Dometic's are great options, however they cost more than double. It would be amazing if $500 fridge/freezer performs on the similar level.

ARB is almost 6 years old now and running flawlessly. And I beat the sht out of it

Make sure you leave the lid cracked when you're not using it so it airs out. Otherwise, it'll get moldy inside

Speaking of slides. What are you guys using? Just snagged a CFX75. The dometic slide has terrible reviews so just getting a pulse.

I use the Tembo tusk one. It’s stupid expensive (most fridge slides are). But my truck is a daily driver and I use the bed a lot so the ability to just have the docking station installed and putting the slide in works for me additionally my wife has a 4Runner and we can put it in there too

Yeah I don’t have a drawer system so it’s pretty much pointless for me if it doesn’t clear. I’ll probably do with the Tembo or MSA straight slide it looks like.

Is this cooler overkill for a family of 4 (1 & 3 y/o kids) for 3 day (max) trips, in your opinion?

If you’re maxing out at 3 days, probably overkill. If you ever wanted to do 5+ days though it’d be money.

$185 for the fridge. Made the rear seat delete. Also bought a used Goal Zero Yeti 400 for $185 to add some flexibility. Love it!

Do you have experience with children (or your own)? I know this cooler is huuuge but the amount of bs that needs to come along with 2 kids camping for a few days is insane too so just want a realistic opinion...

I have a 2yr old. We started off with a Coleman cooler. We try and pack efficiently and the fact that there’s no ice is a game changer space wise. I’d definitely seek others opinions as well. 0BDC1A31-102F-401C-8552-57C919708985.jpg D50B595A-6EB5-4F07-AAC8-8031BDE523CD.jpg

This was a 3 day man trip for comparison.
    120EEB95-8715-402A-A985-4798C1086D94.jpg

if I had two kids and planned 3-5 days. I’d get a 75 with dual zone. Just my opinion.

    More to Come ...

How did you secure the homemade seat delete to the truck? Looking at bringing my frig from the truck bed into the cab and don't have the funds for a Goosegear delete. Thanks!

we're a family of 5. 16, 14 and 11. the girls go a little nuts with packing ice cream...

3 day trips you'll have extra room in the 75.

    this is accurate.

I used the factory hardware to bolt it down. Glued two layers of plywood together to recess the bolt heads. 541DAD72-DB97-4490-8657-BF59574BE7D2.jpg1C566B1E-F81A-4124-86B9-36FF47229033.jpg

    Sandeply marine grade plywood 0.5”
One thing I would have added was a melamine surface to the top.

Did this too. The battery is stock size but was a great amp hour increase.
