    Well this is good news.

If and when you get another Tundra, I would buy the skid plate/cat protection from @Classy63

Mass. South shore. I’ve seen a few from Portland Me and St. Albans certified 3rd gens pop up but they’re 2015-2018 and it’s like a 3 hour drive so I was hoping to get a sense of what that age of truck looks like after being hickory cured with NE road brine. Also they’re like 29-31k and a new SR is 36. I just HATE buying new. Too cheap.

Like I said, I hear ya. My SR5 TRD Off Road was $37K. But a new one was more like 45K, and I just couldn't do that. But I just could NOT find a second gen Tundra that wasn't going to rust out from under me in 4-5 years, so I bit the bullet and went for the certified. My mechanic, who's a very good friend, is happy for me. :D

BTW, I used to live in Metrowest. When Deval Patrick gave his SOTS address about raising Marxachusetts taxes by two billion dollars, it inspired me to get the hell out of there. You couldn't pay me to move back, and the headhunters HAVE been trying! :D

Final update to the saga (hopefully). Dealer refunded what I had in the truck and sent a check to the bank. They also signed a bill of sale confirming conditions of sale and accepting the truck back at no cost to me. Gotta say, didn’t expect that clean an outcome after truck was shipped the way it did.

For some other good news, found a 2014 SR5 TRD in Maine. 130k on the clock. Bought it at 23. Frame is pretty clean except for rear shackle area which has surface and light pittinf. Going to wait until summer to pull the bumper, raise the bed with some blocking, sandblast and coat with chassis saver.

Truck has an obvious issue in that the front coils are blocked. Might be a leveling kit but the truck sits way higher than I thought a leveling kit could take it. Thinking I’ll measure the height of the arches to center of hub and ask you guys for advice on how high it’s lifted and whether it’s time to reduce that height a touch.

I need to go to law school.

seems to be a high demand for legal services relating to car ownership lately.

Yes but could you imagine a world with even more lawyers?

I don't usually read a 3 page thread but this one was worth the read with a happy ending. Glad everything worked out.
