Well it sounds like it's way more trouble than it's worth. I thought it wouldn't be that involved. When it involves changing the steering column, wiring harnesses and processors, starting modules, I don't want any part of it.
I've done automatic to manual transmission swaps on other brands that were straight forward R&R.
    Thanks for all the input.

My wife's Honda Odyssey has a cooler up front in the lower part of the dash. I think the cooling mechanism is just an air duct. You could direct one of the ducts that goes under the front seats to the rear into the console and keep the air conditioning on to keep things cool.

Have you thought about putting your daughter in the console?

Mount cooler in front of bed. Place said cooler with the lid opening towards the cab. Roll rear window down, have daughter grab drink from cooler and continue down the road. Been doing that for years, and works great for those I need a drink while driving moments.

Unfortunately I use a tonneau cover over the bed so there's no way to open it while driving.

She's far from being a midget to fit. :p

crazy of wanting to do that , but any ways its not impossible , just going to need to change out the whole dash assembly and steering Column , wiring , ac/heat vents reverse light relay .... it might be worth it just to find a column shift Tundra and trade. lots of different parts from viewing the Diagrams between the two.

There is actually a pretty huge space in between the seats if you remove the rear of the console and I bet it could be done with west german precision too if you wanted to mutate a nice cooler in the console rear for trips?!

I just got a 14 qt Pelican cooler that I bet would fit there replacing the rear part of the console?

If it is not broken don't fix it. Craziness. Trade it in for what you want.

Already sold. Now I'm just looking. I actually would like a Tacoma or earlier gen 4X4 now. The Tundra was a bit too big to use a daily driver. I already have the perfect traveling/road trip vehicle, a one owner 2002 Ford Excursion.
    It's a column shift too. :D

I think you have the right idea! Mine is not a daily driver either. I bought it for towing. Sounds like a Taco would work out better for you.
