How are you guys holding up??
Everything around me is flooded, but I still had to be at work this weekend and today. There are people jammed up in muddy shoulders on the road. Of course, we got brand new potholes, as you can see road chunks floating around. I will post some pictures I have later.

Edit: I got an earthquake notification as well; did you guys feel anything?? I didn't feel a thing. Word was my chandelier was rocking, but that was it.

Thankfully where I am (San Diego, on the mesa above Mission Bay) for the most part it didn't live up to the hype. Periods of crazy wind and rain, but not a total deluge.

My patio and garage flood a bit if it dumps too much too fast... I have drains running out to the street but when the street and gutters fill up my drains have nowhere to go, so I prepared my little dams.

It was kind of an interesting juxtaposition on Saturday when I went to fill my sandbags at Fiesta Island on Mission Bay, (Man made island with a road that circles it and you can drive/park on the sand) on one side of the road was a bunch of people enjoying themselves as normal... chillin' and grillin' or riding jet skis, children and dogs swimming, just another day at the beach.
On the other side of the road was people filling sandbags and looking much more concerned.

Hope you all came through unscathed, and that nobody has tickets for a Dodger game anytime soon.

My place is in a slight incline and all my doors are elevated 3+ inches from the ground, so I had no need for sandbags this time. It did get pretty close, to which I will need to modify my patio for drainage or at least a path out of the back yard since whoever laid down the cement in the patio left a lot of low points where water tends to sit or gets pushed towards the house.
I'd imagine most people grilling out, probably live in apartments no need to worry about the storm, since management will handle all issues... Our building at work is falling apart, we have leaking in all the lower floors, apparently it's seeping past the 3rd floor into the 1st and 2nd, lol.

I'm in south OC. We did get record amounts of rain, but nothing life threatening like they thought. All the city and parks around here were giving out (empty) sandbags for free, so alot of people were panic-baggin. Then of course all the freaks bought up all the water and shit tickets again. We've had a couple issues with structures sliding down the cliffs within the last year, so that was a concern, but not a problem reported. Meanwhile, some of the locals were doin this02DBD0C1-3DF8-4F7C-A711-068059F01F2D_1_201_a.jpg
We felt a minor jolt from the baby quake, once.

Looks like T-Street in San Clemente?

Sometimes that "calm before the storm" eddy makes for beautiful buttery glass conditions, Saturday was really small in SD or I'd have gone.

I was watching the cams at Lower Trestles on Sunday morning and the waves looked pretty fun, and I heard Newport was really good. Winds were unfavorable and messy by me.

I've had some epic surf sessions during summertime storms... pouring down rain but no wind. Usually way less crowded too.

I didn't think it was that bad.. Since regular rain out here in the A.V. causes about the same flooding.. Just don't pull into the muddy shoulder or it'll claim your car lol

T-street indeed. Nice catch. There were some clean sets rollin in for sure, that was Saturday. I saw footage from HB and they seem to have got the best of it.

T-Street and Trestles, hotbed of VERY talented young surfers!

Pretty fun to watch them rip, but for us old geezers (that've been surfing since before most of their fathers were born  ) sometimes it's hard to even get a wave off of 'em.

Camarillo checking in. Zero damage, in fact just a normal rain storm. The earthquake hit and I didn’t feel it but heard it. My dogs jumped and ran to the frond door ready to tear up an intruder. I was confused as to what the noise was and walked out front, neighbors were out. I asked if that was thunder, they told me earthquake.

I said it's sometimes hard to get waves off the groms, I didn't say I quit tryin'!

I have a longboard, but haven't ridden it in ages. I'm gonna' shred the shortboards while I still can.

I like the vibe at San O' but coming from San Diego it's usually full by the time I'd get there. Not gonna' wait in line to surf.

From Riverside county here and it was like a regular rainstorm for me lol. Wind was not bad at all, no flooding, didnt even wash my truck as well as I would have liked.

I can just imagine people from Florida having a pool party in "hurricanes" like the one we had.

I read that it technically downgraded from a category 1 hurricane to a tropical storm before hitting the US. I guess there’s a difference? Regardless, yeah, we’ve had El Niño storms that were much worse. Hilary was weak

100% agree.. I didn't see a difference between tue winter storms and this one. We got briefed at work, so I wasn't really too worried about it.

Seriously. I saw an ad someone posted (don't recall what local site, CList or NextD) on sunday, offering to collect unwanted sandbags for a fee...haha wonder how that worked out for him. Probably made bank
