I own a 2016 1794 edition. after driving a 2007 for years prior to this one, I found the power to be lagging in my new pickup. So I thought Cat back exhaust and cold air intake, that should help right? wrong! K&N intake running for 1.5 years now and Dealer removing it today, putting stock back on. Cruse control, vacuum for break sensor, lack of low end power and just flat out not running well has given us no choice but to try the factory intake.
Waist of $300+ not to mention, third time in the shop:(

It has the same power, just have to push the pedal down more. The CAI is s waste of money.

Press the tow/haul button, log some miles, you will see what I mean by the same power.

A SC is the only real way to beast up the 5.7 in my opinion.

I would have to agree, but as luck would have it, one of my dealers lead mechanics also has a 1794 edition, almost identical to mine excluding fender flares, and he drove mine and said "Buddy this sucker is a dog" no joke, he offered to let me drive his, and told him, I know, I have to drive mine in tow mode to have any acceleration at all. He said that's what they are seeing too?
I'm just glad someone at the dealership is fessing up to the fact this one has NO power!
I've owned over 20 Toyota's starting with "77" Celica, ending with this pickup, had a 93 Supra, Turbo 4 running and many more along the way, ending with this pickup, and this pickup has been a huge disappointment. So much so, I replaced my wife's Lexus GS 350 with a Infinity Q50 I just purchased in Bellevue Wa. And will most likely go with, as hard as it is for me to say, "A domestic" for my next pickup. Unless Toyota does something crazy like 3/4 ton revamp of what they offer now.

Lol. You do realize that the engine in your new Tundra is the same engine that was in your 2007?

There is also zero benefit to any aftermarket cold air intake system nor the catback exhaust. You are actually losing power with that exhaust setup.

What other mods does the truck have? Lift? Bigger tires? Aftermarket wheels?

@dirtydeeds what can you do for this man?
