C4 Fabrications prototype Tundra bumper

Figured I'd contribute, ordered a Overland version Aug 5, recieved it at the powder coating shop end of October. They do not ship the large full size Bumpers to residential addresses.

 

Looks good! We have the same color, i like your wheels! Waiting to put on my overland bumper. Cannot find a warn winch that isn't on backorder so good score

 

Are you sure? I think I've read folks in this thread saying they had it delivered to their house, they drilled holes for lights, etc, and then brought it to powder coater themselves. Doesn't really make much sense why they wouldn't deliver it residential. I ordered mine mid-Nov & they have my residential address for shipping.

 

From C4 WEBSITE.
Large items like full size Front and Rear Bumpers and Rock Sliders ship to the freight hub nearest the customers residential address unless a commercial address is provided in which case product can be sent directly to the commercial address.

All other products (Lo-Pro Bumpers and smaller parts or accessories and swag items) ship to the residential address provided.

Aaah - you know...after I read "ship to the freight hub nearest res. address," it jogged my memory...those folks I mentioned who drilled before powder coating - I think they had to go pick it up first.
Weird. I can't imagine it being that much more expensive to get it the last x amount of miles to residence.

 

I'm just glad I caught that prior to it being shipped. My assumption, additional miles considering the weight and awkward shape to.deliver to a specific address probably aren't worth the added cost...? Dunno I figured I'd save the hassle and have it shipped to a shop. I raptor lined my current slimline bumper and I do not want to do that again. Plus in my case the local hub...isn't so local so I would have had to drive a good distance.

 

Is your current an SSO slimline?

 

Yes had it for a few years. It is okay I will be selling it for $100.00 once I take it off.

 

Same here. Hundred bucks - holy piss that's cheap. You can prob get 7 or 800 bucks for it. It's a ~$1400 bumper.

Edit: make that a ~$700 bumper. forgot half the cost was my BD light bar. Still - you can prob get 3 or 400 for it.

 

Anyone in line to buy your old bumper?

 

It has a dent in the front but for someone who knows what they are doing its nothing. It also needs to be stripped and re-coated. I'll be.posting some pics up in the market place In a few days. Likely in the 100 range, not trying to dick around with it.

I'm selling my house soon and am trying to lighten the load (as instructed by the boss lady).

Went to.install my c4 Sunday but noticed I did not have the brackets for the light bar or the brackets for the squadron pros...so the SSO bumper will stay on a bit longer.

 

What kind of bar are you putting on it? Says it's designed to fit 30" bars - specifically BD S8.

 

Finally got the hybrid mounted along with some Baja s1/squadron/xl’s/s8/lp6’s. Also added a badlands winch and had to use it to pulle me and my boat up a boat ramp Sunday. Worked flawless.

 

When I ordered the bumper I selected the Extreme Led X6S.
In my opinion I think it is just something to fill the space. If I want to add something more functional I would probably go with something mounted on my frontrunner rack.

Yes The shop that did the install did drill the new hole.

 

Does that low bar sit low enough to clear the sensor on the TRD Pro grille? Anyone know?

 

Yes, that's the mid-height bar & it works with sensors on all models. The full-height bar works with sensors on TRD Pro grills only, according to their site:

Thanks for the info. That's what I was waiting to hear, I'll be pulling the trigger on the C4 Overland now and beginning the 4+ month wait for fabrication.

@JCBerb - just got an email from C4 saying the bumper is ready to ship, but they can’t ship it to my residence. Lol. Oh well.

Awesome news is I ordered it on Nov 13 & it had a 14 week lead time, which should have put it being ready late Feb/early March. I’ll gladly take it a month early.
