No welding, but I did some cutting grinding and painting. The cutouts are not exactly even, I had to grind the passenger light a bit more in one corner. I assume the BDs would have fit perfectly.

I didn't measure. But 2" should be fine.

Nope can't flip bracket. It hits the front bezel of the light.

Second hole isn't needed if welding.

    Lots of shenanigans.
How well do you think that the bracket will hold since you made a T notch?

It's solid enough unless it takes a direct hit. 100x more solid than in the factory bumper. Ohh, I also sandwiched in the T cut with a stainless fender washer.

Is that bracket the one that comes with the DD light?

I believe so, I ordered a hardware kit from them and new bezels. I had DD tundra specific kit already.

A plastic bracket that mounts into the stock socket, a round angled bezel, and the plug harness. No that plastic mount will not possibly work with the bumper.

Are y'all keeping the grille on when you mount your bumper up? Looks pretty tight with the hoop welds right there.
My bumper should be back from powder coating in a week or two and curious what others have done.

Yea I put the grill back on before putting bumper on. Hopefully I do not need to take the grill off anytime soon.

    Okay.
How was it getting to all the wiring with the grille on?

My 19 had the hybrid on with no hoop and I ran the wiring, then put the grille back on.

I'm thinking if doing this as I think the clips on the center cross member will be able to hold the bottom of grill from kicking out.

Six days since install, guys who powdercoated it blame the welds, saying there are holes. They did offer to repowder, I am just going to clean the rust and seal the welds I can get to bed liner, and solid film the shit out of the inside of it.

Did you contact C4 to get their opinion? Sorry that this is happening to you. Anyone else with C4 bumpers have this issue?

The only way a powder coated steel part will rust is either misapplication of coating or occurrence of oxidation prior to coating. Improper removal/treatment of the oxidation will cause this.

Of course wear and tear... but that doesn’t seem to be the case here.

Agree. They didn’t prep your bumper properly or they did but let it sit for too long or someone was touching it with their skin or sweating all over the metal or something of that nature. There is no way that has anything to do with a weld. They need to start all over and do it right. Good luck with whoever did that work and them making it right.

Them saying it’s a weld is a classic pass the buck to the manufacturer to handle this. Well sadly, there is a reason C4 ships their bumper unfinished and this is the exact reason. The prep part prior to coating is on the end user or the “professional powdercoating” place.
