I don't know if this topic has been discuss before, How much did you guys pay for your local body shop to paint your fenders? Body shop here in the bay area is asking for 800-1000k to color match (040) my fenders.

That’s high as.....we charge 100 ea for drop off and pick up, 150 each if we have to install. That’s middle Tn tho.

Yup that’s what I used to pay for a small project plus 40 for the paint. IDK if it’s because of the lockdown and all businesses are hurting. I found one at the end of the day and quoted me for 600 and they’ll price match it if I found a lower price...

Just make sure you find one that knows about prepping raw plastic, it can be a pain sometimes.

What color are you looking for? one of the Toyota parts sites - sparks maybe? sells flares in the popular Toyota colors. unfortunately not all though.

Thats costly....too much $. Check sparks and it is probably cheaper to purchase them already painted.

    Do it yourself

YouTube has a lot of videos on prepping and painting with aerosol. I did this on my last tundra with great results. You will need the matched paint and a good quality 2k clear. All can be sourced on Amazon or if you have a paint shop near by with the capability to make you aerosol you can get it from them.

i've got a ghetto shop in San Jose off San Carlos Rd that charged me $250 installed. some imperfections but i'm happy with it for what i paid and what they are for. it's one of those shops where you'd be better off going to speak with him versus trying to call. he doesnt take insurance and it's cash only. lol. i have another shop also in the same area that does great work but higher priced. they did a great job on color matching the grill surround perfectly. no imperfections. pm me if you want info on either of them.

I could, but checking the website they only offer 2 options. Pocket and oem. I have the extend a flare ones... got my friend doing it for me, find out his shop is still open.

That’s my next route but got a friend shop to do it for 300. Thanks for the input, and by the way nice truck!

Good looking truck bro! Anyway my friend shop is in San Carlos too, not a ghetto shop though lol. He charge me 300 to do it, maybe the shop you went with a higher price is at old county road.. lol

Is that quote for prep and paint only, or for the fender flares themselves as well as prep and paint? My trusted local body shop prepped, painted and clear coated my pocket flares for $350.00 and they turned out immaculate. Anything over $500.00 would be crazy.

That's only prep and paint, I went to almost 6 shops around my area (2-4 miles from my place) and they all quoted me almost the same @ 800-1k mark. Decided I'll drive extra 20 miles and drop it off at my friend's shop for $300.

Wow, that sucks for your area! That being said, the extra 20 miles seems pretty easy, in order to save $500-$700!
