We have turkey buzzards here in Ks and I've never heard of anything like this and have never seen the ugly bastards on a vehicle. Sorry this happened to you and I'm damn glad we dont have the black ones here.

A .22 with a can is so much more quiet than a 50 BMG and articulation of the accidental discharge report would be the key to getting the report signed off on by the LEO rank.

They are protected and this was at a busy campsite/marina/boat ramp area on Table Rock Lake. The problem is I got there at about 6:30 AM and there were at least 75 of them on the ramp and dock, the marina dosent start getting busy until around 10:00 So they're hanging around getting into all sorts of shenanigans early. And my dumb ass parked in the last parking spot to prevent some idiot play boater from backing into my trailer. Well that spot happens to be under a tree AND next to the dumpsters. When I walked up to my truck they looked at me like I was doing something wrong and didn't move until I was at the truck and still had to shoo some away.

So you just have to "embrace the suck" and absorb the cost of repair? Nahhhhh ,unexplained and mysterious accidents happen all the time.

It would be a comp claim, but my deductible is $500. The weather stripping that is ate up at the top of the door which can be seen from outside between the door and cab at the top of the door, is that Surround Weather Strip (67861-0C030)? If so is that something I can change myself? Also what about the Drip Molding on the roof, they ate into them and scratched them up, I though it I could change them myself I would. Are those easy or should I go to a body shop? The parts are on your site and a lot cheaper than what I thought they would be which has me wondering about the DIY job or should I leave it to the professionals?

The parts won't be much, nor will they be too hard to install. I was more worried about the damage to the paint. It looks like they scratched the hell out of your roof. If they have to fix and paint the roof or any other part of the truck, then it will be well over your deductible, and the parts could be thrown in with the body shop doing those repairs.

They smeared their sh!t all over and it looks like it scratched it up but with the layers of wax my wife has put on this truck in the 5 months we've owned it since new it doesn't appear to be scratched up except for one small one on the hood. We've gone over it pretty good and don't see any scratches. How are the surround weather strips put in? Are they glued or pop in? Also what about the drip molding on the roof? Can you just pull it off and pop new ones in or is a little deeper than that?

That's awesome. It looks horrible in those pictures.

Here are a few links to the parts:

    Back window belt molding

They are all pretty easy to install. The back belt molding is held in with clips, and the roof moldings fit into a groove in the channel that holds it down.

Reference post #3, that is a picture of the weather stripping at the top of the door where it meets the cab. I have that damage across the top of the passenger front and rear door. Is that the "Surround Weather Strip"?
