The wobble also could’ve been from the truck sitting on the lot. When my truck sits too long I can tell the tires give me a little shake for the 1st mile or two.

If the used makes sense then I think your ok. As mentioned the brakes can be improved.
You may need to look at a few more used Tundras.

Buying new is overrated imho. Not saying I won't, but always shop both. Nothing wrong with a good used vehicle.

If you don't mind me asking, did you pay over 30k?

The price they are offering me and won't move off with the CPO Tundra is $29,260. They claim the wobble is completely gone from a road stress balance. I had them check the brake fluid and they haven't got back to me yet. It is hard to find a good used truck in Upstate NY due to road salt. There is no rust on this truck though. Is it common for Tundras to start paint flaking on the fenders from winter roads? I don't recall ever seeing a Tundra with rotted fenders up here like a Ram. Ill throw a few more pictures of it up for shits and gigs. Thanks again for all the replies.

You can always get a 3rd party inspection done on the truck in question. I have done it in the past with good results. This usually costs between 100-300.00 depending on what you want done. If you want a compression/leak down test it will be the 300.00.

PREVIOUSLY OWNED is the way to go.
    On 8/3/18 I picked up a 2015 SR5 TRD with 19,700 miles for $32k. Loooove it...
($13k trade-in helped bring it down to $19)

YOU are looking at a good value for a used truck, also.
What you shared are not major issues. Turn or replace the rotors for a few hundred bucks with new pads and flush the fluid. Enjoy a previously owned Tundra and save some coin! Put those savings towards customizing it to your preferences!!
    IMG_20181210_202826.jpg God bless.

Nobody gets rid of a perfectly good truck for no reason, and that 2015 is there because somebody ditched it. Buy new, or else you may end up buying someone else's problem. It may be abused, flooded, wrecked, stolen, repossessed, who knows. That thing could be a Hurricane Harvey flood truck that was never written off, for all anybody really knows. These things hide damage really well.

People absolutely do get rid of good vehicles. I traded in a 2016 TRD Tacoma after owning it for a year and a half. Now I want to trade in my 2018 Civic SI for a real truck. Going to a car was a bad impulse decision but the Tacoma wasn't nearly as pleasing as a full size pick up.

Yes there are plenty of used vehicles that buyers want to steer clear of, but there are also some awesome deals out there if you are a disciplined shopper and experienced enough to really inspect a vehicles condition while on an extended test drive on all sorts of surfaces. Open & close everything, crawl under the truck, check the hard to reach places with a flash light, look under the seats, pull a panel that allows you to see the floor hidden below the carpet, and be prepared to pay a mechanic to inspect what you can't.

EDIT: and don't think a dealer is going to voluntarily divulge repairs made to a new vehicle that was damaged in transit, they are not obligated to tell the buyer. You need to thoroughly inspect new vehicles before taking delivery.

I have bought & sold more than 60 different personal vehicles, only a few were purchased brand new. The last vehicle I purchased already had 4 previous owners and 270k miles, I purchased it for $5k a little over a year ago and it has close to 282k on it today. The only surprise repair was the fuel pump, the rest has been service/maintenance, cleaning and mods. The seller had just purchased a new '17 CM, and no longer needed the RCSB.

The day I drove it home.
    IMG_0909.jpg

Sometime this Summer, not bad for a rare used Tundra with zero accompanying service records.

I found a certified pre owned 2016 SR5 TRD with 16000 miles on it for $33k. It was a former lease vehicle so it was immaculate, and had a few nice additions that the prior owner made. There are great deals to be found.

You be a gambling man! My truck needs to start, everyday, period, no matter what. Hence the new Tundra! Keep in mind, there is ALOT of play in price in a new you will not get as easily on a used. I got a 38k msrp truck for close to 31k, full warranty and all maintenance for the next 5 years(haggled in an extended service plan). If my job left me any time to keep an older one going(I do 18 hour days with a 45 min commute for 5 months of the year, I barely have time to eat), or If I had a garage and more than 1 parking spot, I may see things differently, absolutely.
I do have a 2011 Tacoma I bought new, put 103k on it so far, and, I tell you what, I have managed to not have a singe check engine light, dead battery, leak, anything. It appears perfect.
But I also drove it through flood waters back in April 2013, in Pensacola. The Taco made me proud. There is zero indications it was up past the wheels in water for a good half mile of driving down the 110 spur into town. Does anybody know but me? Now, yes. But before? Nope!
Also, the dealer who maintained it then, never noticed, nor have the couple of shops and dealers who inspected it since. I
Does it show like a perfect truck? Sure. Is it? Nope. I suppose I could have done the same thing if I leased it....
Considering the average car has 30,000 parts, any of which can fail, it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out why the Enterprise rent a car and the like, all first world government agencies, and first responders tend to use new vehicles, usually. If I had to get a used truck, a Toyota is certainly the best bet, generally.
    Wanna buy a Tacoma?:)

You can't go wrong either way. I was looking at 2015-2017 models until Toyota had a 0% incentive in my area on 2018s, so I ended up buying new. Do another test drive to see if the wobble is really gone and get a 3rd party inspection on the brakes, like ColoradoTJ said.

I did gamble on this truck, but I have my ultra reliable 2002 Tundra that I purchased as a CPO in '03. That's what enabled me to keep on trucking while the '07 was being modded, serviced and repaired. Both trucks are reliable - the '02 is for work... the '07 is for fun.

All this drama about a used truck...ought to tell you something.

If the "discount" is worth the risk, then buy used.

For me, I don't buy used pickup or sports cars.

I absolutely love the % of buyers that insist on brand new trucks.
You enrich the pool of high quality used vehicles for me to choose from, and purchase for a dramatically discounted price.
    Thank you.

Crunch the numbers on the interest rates. See how much money both will cost you in the end. Some dealer incentives can be pretty good. This is my current situation, 5 year lease with zero down at 1.8%. I pay $535 per month. To get that payment on a used Tundra I’d be buying a 5 year old one with 100,000km. I chose brand new, full warranty, zero mileage. This scenario doesn’t work for everyone but it works for me. I’ve always purchased used in the past but decided new this time. I absolutely love it! No paint scratches, interior is perfect, no stains or blemishes.
