I'm a loyal DT buyer, but I noticed that Costco is now including install and hazard with purchase tonight when getting gas. That might actually sway me. My biggest concern is my Costco doesn't typically keep anything other than 17" tires in stock. So it's then a two-trip journey for tires and into the chaos of their parking lot.

However, DT has always done whatever it takes to earn my business. I bet they adjust their policy accordingly.

If you replace tires with OEM/similar than Costco is good. If you’re doing anything unique or like researching tires then Discount is better for that. Plus sized tires at Costco are a huge hassle, also only have a few brands. Discount tires near me in contrast are usually booked a few weeks out, an appointment is needed to not spend 4 hours there which is an annoyance.

I've bought most of my tires from Discount Tire over the years due to many locations and good deals. However, I ended up on east coast and closest DT is 2 hours away, in neighboring state. Costco is 6 minutes away and I do most of my shopping there for everything.

I wanted to get my next set of tires there, but selection is somewhat limited and reading through this thread it tells me that they may not install the size I want.

My original size is 275/55/20. I want 275/70/18 as I'm running on TRD PRO wheels. So I wonder if they would even install what I want.

Same here, moved to the east coast and DT is too far. I just ended up installing them myself and picking the cheapest option. I bought some tires from discountedwheelwarehouse. They don't offer install or anything fancy, but the prices are dirt cheap for the michelins I bought. Although I need to try out Costco, just never got a membership.
