Went to a 4x4 shop with my buddy who has the Lariat FX4 with the ecorabbit engine. He asked the guy about an exhaust and the guys said "honestly, I've done exhausts on these and they all sound like a lawnmower."

Toyota has had plenty of recalls also.

I seem to "recall" (pun intended) that Toyota had a recall in January for over 600,000 vehicles for an airbag issue.

I’ll delete my posts. I’ll go somewhere else on this site and be more productive. With that said, most owners on this site bought the Tundra because they believe it to be superior to the competitors offerings so arguing against that fact on this sight seems counter productive.

What did you expect? This is a Tundra forum and I/others have had problems with Ford and we shared our thoughts. If you do not like them then that is on you. OP wanted to know our thoughts on Tundra over F150 and we all shared them.

I’m talking about one person in particular and it’s not the OP or you. It’s continuous comments like these that I find odd for a Tundra site.

He’s a troll that sold his Tundra and bought a Ford. Said Ford has 5K miles on it and he’s already had the inconvenience of a visit to the dealer because of a shit transmission.
He has to make himself feel better one way or another - what do you expect?
I’ve kicked my ass before for not buying a Toyota. Some people handle buyers remorse differently than others.
    It is what it is.

    LMAO!

The airbags are usually 3rd party parts like stereos, right? Engine and transmissions are usually designed and manufactured by the vehicle maker. So Toyota having airbag issues I’d say isn’t entirely on them, but the engine and transmission issues Ford had is bad engineering or quality control on Fords part.

That’s my assumption anyway. I’ve not researched it.

Yeah, we just ignored that response. If he went there, he’s really scraping the bottom of the barrel. Millions of vehicle of multiple mfg’s were affected.

If you want sexxy, high maintenance and fancy gadgets, get the f150. It's a beautiful truck for sure.
If you want uber-reliable proven quality, get the tundra.

I was in the same boat not too long ago. I ended up with the tundra. I had a long time to consider, so I asked everyone I encountered in a truck what they thought of theirs. The only brand everyone said "I love this truck, no complaints, when it dies dies ill get another" was the Toyota. Ford quickly was out of the running due to the number of complaints of high cost repairs and poor customer service. Lots of rust complaints and several complete engine failures. One guy I spoke to bought a king cab, f350 with all the bells n whistles. Engine went bad after 25k miles, Ford refused to fix. Dude ate the cost sold the truck bought a Toyota never looked back.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the f150, but repairs alone disuaded me. I do appreciate the higher mileage an f150 gets, but one major repair would be more than the additional fuel cost.

Anyhow, good luck on your choice. I do hope you are happy either way. Honestly, they are both good vehicles for their own reasons.

I posted this link on one of the previous pages about mileage I think. The "EPA Estimated" for the Fords are way higher than reality, where Tunda's are about right in line with where they say they are. You're really only talking about 2mpg.

    assuming 15k mi/year and $3/gal:
it's about 2368.42 for the Ford @19mpg hwy
it's about 2647.05 for the Tundra @17mpg hwy
that's a savings of 278.63 for the year. Given the cost of the vehicles and the reliability of the Tundra, I'm ok with paying that difference at the pump.

@Boosted4runner whoa... slow down there turbo... lots of conjecture. my tundra is still sitting in my garage as my DD with 38,000 miles on it.

and if you read my post, i didn't say the King Ranch went to the dealer, or that i was butt hurt about it. i said it was subject to that recall. It is also sitting parked in the garage too, hasnt rolled out yet!

no one is trolling, im just trying to bring in a BALANCED view. so what if my opinion does not follow the love fest? I see something for what it is, accept its flaws and positives, but try not to view everything through rose colored glasses, even if i own it.

There is no comparing a Ford to a Toyota. If you have to ask the diference, you have yet to do your homework. Most reliable vehicles are Toyotas...

the whole point of both threads was a DEBATE and comparison. its a discussion.

The market today is WAY different than it was just 3 years ago. furthermore, if you had both a 2018 5.0 KR and your tundra at your disposal everyday, i would expect that you would also give honest, unbiased input, comparing both vehicles, like an adult.
