In 2024 is there anywhere where I can buy a first gen access cab frame?

Yes, you can buy them from Toyota. You don't want to see the price tag.

We have at least one member on here with a full frame for sale also, brand new. But you haven't given us enough details about your truck to know if it's compatible. Don't know what I mean? Read this thread. First bullet section is for you.

Does your frame not qualify for the recall that's still in effect?

Sadly I do not qualify for frame replacement when I look up recalls only thing is the wiring harness for trailer. Another thing I can’t seem to figure out if I look up my vin under the owners program I cannot find anything about what was done to it in the past.

My truck is a SR5 access cab TRD, with v8. Only has 183k miles.

Recall eligibility doesn't show up. It's a safety campaign ("SSC").

Read the thread I linked, seriously. Focus on the frame section and links from there.

tl;dr - As long as no prior owner had it treated during SSC, if you have holes in specific areas, you qualify, just need to find a dealer willing to do it. We've had USA and CAN members both have some luck, and there's a couple specific dealers who are confirmed willing to do the work listed in threads here.

But frame replacement isn't "free". There's other shit they'll break in the process and you pay for it. Average $1,500-$3,000 but ... that's less than you'd pay to buy a frame, and half what you'd pay someone to install it.

You can usually see if it was treated or inspected for SSC looking at the Toyota Owner's site at the dealer maint. history.

So if the coating or a replacement happened would it show up under the Toyota Owners site? Also weirdly enough for my truck not a single thing shows up at all. Sorry for all the questions.

If you're in Canada, sometimes there's issues with the Toyota Owners website where it won't show in the dealership maintenance history. They're constantly working on that site, sometimes things break.

If nothing else, your local dealer can look and see if there's any history. And it's not always clear in the history entries. It may not be listed as "FRAME INSPECTED AND SPRAYED", it may show up as "SSC - (some gibberish here)".

Again, everything you need to know is in that bulleted section I linked you up with. It may not be DIRECTLY in the bullets, you may need to click on links under each bullet and start reading, but if you're truly interested in learning whether yours is eligible and where/how to get it done, READ THAT STUFF. We didn't post it there for our personal health. It's there as a resource and reference to other owners, so you can - without other people repeating the same story over and over again - figure it out directly.

If you have more questions after reading all that stuff, post them, along with more details, in the 'Frame recall' sticky thread.

First you need correct part number. As that thread mentions, different cab types and different drivetrain configs use different frames. Someone posted a list of frame part numbers on here once upon a time...

51001-0C100 Is the part number I came to from your linked post. Just most places I’ve came across they’re sold out and it’s discontinued.

MSRP on the frame when it was available was like $10k, and some dealers would knock 25-35% off. Still, you're out almost $7k.

Good junkyard frame is less than $1,000. @empty_lord do you recall what your part number is or what cab/drive it went to?
