Reviving an old thread. Installed my Bullydog BDX I bought from @dirtydeeds this week. Updates took an hour or two but the install was just a few minutes. I am very happy with the tuner so far? Shift points and throttle response are much better. Almost like tow haul but controlled and not jerky. Feels great to get some zing back after putting on the cap and heavy ass tires!

Guess it’s a paper weight for now

I would suggest performing an update on the unit itself via WiFi. I have a ‘17 and it works perfectly every time. When I initially got it I remember doing an update first

I did all the updates via WiFi and using device updater. I’m on file version 1.093BDXST what are you currently running? Maybe I need downgrade the file version for it to work......

Did you call bullydog support? I had them on the phone when I did mine and even though it went perfectly it was reassuring to have them there.

I purchased the bullydog GT and it essentially does the same thing but doubles as a monitor for different readings. If you can't get it to work but still want the tune try this one out.

Did you ever get the Bullydog to connect? This is where I'm at with mine. Gets to the check voltage part in the up load and shows 11.4. Even though the screen shows 13 plus while running and 12.4 while in the on position not running. Still waiting to hear back from Bullydog.

Last time I called was a month ago…. Seems to be on the back burner
I’m still in the same situation…. They pretty much told me it’s on the back burner until more people have the same issue. Can’t believe out of all these tundras in the world people are not doing the ECU update…… For me after the update my MPG went from 16.8 to 18.5 on long trips.

3" to 2" Leveling kit and small cosmetic mods. But want to do more. This is my first Tundra, actually my first full size truck. Love the power lol.
Don't you have to be using premium gas to use the premium Tune? Or what would happen if you you use regular 87 gas , and use the premium option tune?

Yes you need premium gas for the premium tune. If using regular gas you select the regular time, with performance shifting and throttle response.

I'm curious about this statement, "They (the truck) will adapt to your driving style over time". What exactly does this mean in terms of the ECM and how the stock truck drives and responses to gas pedal input? If you drive around conservatively (don't get into much i.e jack rabbit starts, etc.) or worst yet you drive around like a "granny", does that effect it's performance over time? How can this be corrected, do you have to unplug the battery so the truck has to re-learn? Or is all this just immaterial?

I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra 5.7, It’s my daily driver and I tow my campers every weekend. I Use regular gas. What program should I be running? I currently have it installed with Regular/Performance/Performance. But should I run Tow/Perf/Perf?
