Yep - we did a few years back.
I’d assume depends on area of the US for cost. I think we were around $12K for 160ish feet?
We did the badass pump that can run 24/7 so you don’t need a huge pressure tank. I think it was $400 more or something.
I have acreage I water, so a big pressure tank wouldn’t work - I’d drain it too quick.
I think I’m 15 gallons a minute at the well. Pretty sure that’s good and we got lucky.
I’d recommend a nice filtration system.
I need to add an iron filter. I do have the salt/softener with a big blue filter.

It’s funny - there are guys at work that water there big yards and pay $300-$400 month in water during the summer.
    The well is a buy-once, cry-once.
I fill up a hot tub and 4,000 gallon pool and pay nothing. And water nearly all day long. We have hundreds of plants/trees on drip and around an acre of grass.
    No monthly water bill.
    :D

Thanks! I am in Washington also so probably will be in the ball park of what your's cost. I am looking at a 13.4 acre parcel right now so irrigation is definitely a concern.

I highly recommend the “continuous duty rated” well pump, vs a large pressure tank.
My pressure tank is the size of a BBQ propane tank - super small. But the well pump can run 24/7 and still last decades.
With land - you could water for 8hrs+ a day, which could burn up the other type of well pumps that feed the large pressure tanks.
    That’s my $0.02 :)

Thanks for the tip! I am waiting to here back from the well driller now. There are still a few things to figure out before I move forward with this piece of land. Going to meet with our builder next week also. We'll see how much my wife wants to add to the plans. At this point my only change is to add 2 feet in length to the garage, and switch to 8 foot doors.

Go as big as possible on the garage! Lol!
Think about the back wall, and if you are doing a work bench, and how much room that will take up.
I think I went 28ish deep, and did a work bench the entire back wall. I can still park the Tundra inside, but wish I would’ve went 30+ft deep.

I will have to figure out the cost and just how deep I can go. The house plans only include 23' 6" deep. That just won't do lol. I am hoping to add 3 ft and go 26' 6" deep, but I will have to see what I can get away with without extending the roofline too much and changing the athletics of the house. I am going to use the 3rd bay as my work area with the bench running down the far wall. I already have my wife convinced that we are going to need to build a separate shop so that's where I will go big. It will probably be a couple of years before we can swing that after we build the house though. I just heard back from my realtor and the land I wanted already has two offers on it :frusty:

That sounds like a solid plan on the garage/shop!
Ahhhh damn!! Sorry to hear on the land, that sucks. :(
Thank God we missed property after property though!! Eventually, we found our dream property. We had the ability to be patient, and I'm a firm believer that patience always pays off. :D

I am with you there. I'm sure it was for a reason and something else will come up that is going to be what we are looking for.

Exactly!! I’m sure it was for a good reason ;)
