Purchased my 2023 SR 4x4 late January 24. Door jam sticker shows 6/23 but Toyota Corporate shows my build date as 11/27/23. Reached out to Brand Engagement and they just confirmed that my build date going forward in there system will remain the later date of 11/23.

My response was that if that's their date it should be a 24 model year haha. I expressed my concern over the engine recalls and when my truck would get the recall. No reasonable response other than there must have been some mix-up in the distribution network. I purchased the truck in Florida so everything goes through the Southeast Toyota Distributors.

They closed my case without a proper explanation and now here I am. Anyone have an idea or experienced this. Thanks

No, purchased 1/24. After both door jam date (6/23) and Toyota internal build date of (11/23).

my door jamb says 2/23 on my 2023 but I'm not included in the recall...yet...how do I find out the actual internal Toyota build date...thinking I just missed the cutoff for when a process was changed...or just made it

Got mine from a conversation with Toyota Brand Engagement
    800-331-4331

I was initially reaching out to them about my second fob and the later internal build date was what they used to get me an ETA on my fob. Then I realized it was different than my door sticker.

Also, they have not sent out recall letters yet. I believe that’s supposed to be in late July. I don’t think it even shows up in the app yet (based only on what I’ve read as my build is 8/23). You have to check on the Toyota or NHTSA sites to see if your truck is included.

I got a 2/23 build and not included. I'm in SET, dealer received it 3/1, and I'd be really surprised it rolled off the line, made the trek to Jacksonville, got it's port installed options all done, then shipped down to SWFL, all between 2/14 and 3/1. I wonder if their system shows the manufacture date as the date SET finished their add ons, not the date it was finished in TX.

what about a carfax history or if you can find the original dealer and ask them of when it was originally sold? maybe they can contact the original owner to contact you to discuss the matter privately between owners.

Did you try plugging VIN into the Toyota pr NHTSA sites to see what shows there? Not sure I’d trust the app.

Yes sir. I plugged in my vin to both sites. Only one I have is the fuel line recall.

That is odd. Maybe you’re like the OP and Toyota has a different build date in their database. Might be worth a call to the number he posted. I do think that is bullshit that they would seemingly not be honoring what is documented in the truck. Especially when it’s the difference between a failed engine recall and a poke in the eye.

I’ll be giving em a ring. I purchased the truck Feb of 2023. So don’t see why the build date would not correlate.

    Thanks.

The text of the recall build date refers to the build of the engine, and not the one of the truck:
"This recall covers vehicles equipped with V35A engines of a particular
configuration that were manufactured during a certain period at particular engine
plants. V35A engines of this configuration, manufactured after this production
period, were manufactured with new or improved processes that better clear
machining debris" and lower it is stated: Production Dates : NOV 02, 2021 - FEB 13, 2023

The door jamb month certainly refers to the assembly of the truck. Engines produced one month may be used for trucks assembled in a following month.
