See the attached photo, circled is the area that is broken or separated.

How critical is that portion of the mount and could it the cause of a shudder I feel around 45mph?

    Thank you for any insight

I'm wondering if the shutter caused the break or vice versa. Sure does not look very sturdy.
Weld it or replace it to find out for sure.

Hopefully being replaced on Monday. If not, then I will do it myself.

Any part of any motor, trans or other suspension component is Critical. Doing the right thing to get it fixed. When mounts get hard, worn or otherwise compromised the job they're supposed to do transfers to the surrounding components, which of course are not designed for that abuse, thats the mounts job, hence more parts start to fail, uggg....

Many let these type of things go on and on, until the warnings are over from the parts....

No lift. Should be able to jack trans up with floor jack with a piece of 2x4 under pan, correct?

Completed transmission mount replacement this morning (easy 30 minute job on the driveway, dealer quoted $350:eek2:). Smoothed out the ride quite a bit. If you have vibrations or shudder its worth it to replace.
