Just an FYI. Powerstops are 20% off until midnight on autoanything.

$365 for all four rotors and pads

I did power stop z36 pads and rotors. Mild dust, no noise. I don’t notice any difference in stoping performance from OEM. My 2 cents.

Stop tech i believe make an OEM replacement. I'm researching new breaks now. I wanted to go with a big brake kit. If you want an OEM replacement why not go with power stop? Its OEM spec and cheaper and I've read positive things about them.

I do have a question. Does anyone know if the stock calipers on a 2012 tundra limited have 2 or 4 pistons in the front?

I'm pretty sure my '13 has 4 piston per caliper (as does your '12). 2 outer and 2 inner.

I bought centric rotors fronts and rears. Since their made by stop tech. Save the money. But i went big with the pads. I went ebc yellow pads. They dirty up the wheels quick. But i ceramic the wheels to clean way easier. O well now it stops like a truck.

I had 70,000+ on my 2014 CM and put the Power stop kit on. Lost my boat trailer brakes and smoked the whole kit coming back from Lake Chelan, WA. I just ordered the EBC kit $750. I will let you know how they work. Scary when they do go out with a 6000lb + trailer behind you on a steep hill. :eek2:

Still working on the trailer. New brake lines and master cylinder about $700 in parts.

I run the Powerstop Z36 cross drilled/slotted rotors and pads. Been very happy with them with a notice in stopping performance.

60k miles for me. Stoptech cryo rotors from Race Consulting Agency...cheapest I found. Drop shipped. Hawk LTS pads from JEGS. Bled entire system. Much better bite than when brand new. For me, significant improvement. Most better biting pads will cause more dust. It's a trade off.

I went with the power stop kit for all four corners and IIRC, it was 180ish delivered thru Amazon. Took about a hour a corner ( also painted calipers during swap). Really didn't even need pads but replaced pads and rotors because I DID need red calipers. Well worth it, stopping is drastically better.

Suggest stock OEM rotors, stock hardware (clips) and Hawk LTS pads.
Cryo rotors are for high wear racing applications. Aftermarket hardware (clips) are lower strength mtrls, and are not adequate.
Towing and severe braking requires better than ceramic, do you'll need semi metallic.
Expect more dust and more rotor wear...

This is overanalyzed in my opinion. Unless you are pushing towing limits or doing other crazy shit, no reason to stray from OEM pads and rotors.

Except for the fact that on all three of my Tundras the rotors warped. I don't live near any mountains. I only tow a small pontoon boat occasionally. Heck when I had the 07, I didn't even have the boat. OEM rotors suck.
