I drove, piloted, whatever, a Malibu one weekend. It was sweet. No bow rise, on plane super fast. It had cruise control that would compensate for turns. Very nice boat. Really pricy too.

Where I live the Colorado river is 25 minutes away. It averages about 10-12' deep but there are plenty of sandbars and shallow spots. I hear that if you run that direct drive or v drive up onto a sandbar you can cause some serious and expensive damage.

My alpha 1, just raise the trim and come right off the sandbar. As an added bonus my aluminum prop shines like a stainless one.

Beautiful boat! Can you tell us more about it? I'm on the hunt for a similar cruiser for use in the Sacramento delta.

Did it happen to get choppy? Curious how it handles on water with some wind/weather around.

No. Was pretty calm. Incredible boat though. Every time I start wanting a new boat I think about how paid off mine is.
Shit. There was a huge boat show in havasu this weekend. Missed it.

I hear the lakes are doing well from all the recent rain huh?

Here in AZ it definitely did our lakes/river systems good, much needed.

Wonder how Powell and Mead will be affected. I think Denver just had some snow not long ago. Hopefully the mountain run off this year will be filling.

Waters already great on the lower Colorado. Still chilly though. I want to take the boat up to havasu and Powell this year now that I have a truck I trust.

It was actually a mild, and somewhat dry winter on the front range this year. That being said, the mountains got shellacked with snow. Snow pack ranged from 140 to 220% of average, so it should be a good year. That, coupled with CA and the Sierra Nevada's getting a ton - hopefully the pressure on the water system abates and everyone does well.

Just looked at Powell, and it says 47.5% of full pool - still 102' low. Hopefully that changes, but with the way CA "manages" their end of the water - doubt it. Sad - Powell has got to be one of the most spectacular lakes on the planet.

Edit: Just read this on their website:

Inflows for WY 2017 are 110.79% of WY 2016 Rivers feeding Lake Powell are running at 166.8% of the Apr 9th avg

Gettin' close. Got the call to bring up my canvas today. Shrink wrap is off, they were summarizing the systems - and it looks like we'll splash late Friday or early Saturday. Totally psyched - splashing the boat is Christmas in spring/summer for me. :)

Hate to say this, but....Powell is unbelievable beautiful with the low level. I hate it, hate to say that. With the low level you see beauty othwrwise under water.

    With that said....
Hopefully the snow fall puts all that beauty back under, We have seen enough!

Here are some twin G2 250's we use on the ski team. We have 2 twin rigs and a triple. Few teams run a triple with 3-300hp G2's. Crazy! Ill post my personal rig this weekend. She has been sleeping for the Wisconsin winter. Time to rise and shine its party time!

I don't disagree with that to some extent. Powell is always going to be beautiful provided it's not dry. I haven't been there with it so low, but I get where you're coming from.

Don't really have great pics of it, but it's an International MXT - the thing is a monster. I'm on the East Coast right now, but will be home tomorrow and can take a couple of MXT specific pics if you like.

I agree yes Powell's beautiful just gorgeous in itself.

I really want to plan a trip out there this summer my wife's never been except just driving through page. I think it would be a real treat for her!

20,000#'s, about 3.5', and 40'. Twin 454 Horizon 380hp big blocks and holds 275 gallons of fuel. Probably because of the latter, I chuckle a bit when I see folks complaining about their Tundra mpg's...

Very nice man. I'm shocked it didn't have diesel power and not petro powered.. you get what 6 or 7 mpg?

I had the numbers from last season somewhere - and I wish it was 6/7 mpg. Book burns are by the hour - and they're something like 35 gph at cruise and 64 gph at WOT. Diesels would be considerably better on the fuel consumption, but they also cost considerably more to maintain. Additionally, the only folks at the marina don't work on diesels - so every boat there save one - burn gas.

Last season from the totalizers/flowscan/and Gps - if I recall, I averaged .71 mpg. Much like a Tundra, you don't worry about gas - it's the enjoyment they provide that you can't put a price tag on that's important.

Thanks for the compliment - she's a great boat and provides exceptional value to the family, as well as being my personal decompression zone.
