    Probably the single biggest reason I find winter annoying is it takes away my summer toy. Pretty sure she finds winter annoying as wellBoat Wrapped for winter October 2014.jpg ...

    An unheard of 73* today in Northern Colorado. As such, had to scratch an itch and see how things were looking at the lake...chompin' at the bit for splash day.

    I grew up in FL and used to hunt the flats in a Silver King, sold it when I moved to CO in 1996. Just inherited a 15' Lund aluminum jon boat w a 25hp merc. It was stored in a barn for the last 10 years. New paint on the trailer, rebuilt carb and cooling system on outboard and refitting the boat so it is more fly fishing friendly. When I am done I will take some pics. Colorado has a few large lakes but for this size boat I should be able to get around in a bunch of little lakes too with the trolling motor.

    There's such much technology in those wake boarding boats...the cockpit is insane. Looking at them at the boat show in Atlanta back in Jan...yeah, their sticker price is not for the faint of heart

    No I'm from Los Angeles/Orange County. But my parents wanted to get out of California so they moved to St. George last year to spend the rest of their retirement. Visited them a couple times it's beautiful out there.

    Wow. That looks cold. It's already mid 90's in Yuma. Waters about 77 in the Colorado river.
    On another note, decided to do some trailer maint today. Pulled the wheel bearings off one side and found some split. Figured I'd check other side too. Bearings on that side were pieces. So.....
    Off to oreily, just got new hub assemblies. They didn't have the bearing sizes.
    Amazing what s little inspection reveals. It towed fine yesterday to the river.
    Gots to do the trailer maintenance.

    Been tossing up the idea of trading up to a wakeboard/ski boat. Currently have a 2001 SeaRay.

    The biggest thing I am curious about is handling characteristics of the direct drive, ie prop wash, reverse - things of that nature.

    Anyone have some good reading or anything I can research?

    Is it really that different?
