Dropped off my front bumper to get powder coated.

Can't wait to get it installed.

You would think I am getting close to being done. I am not. Just need to spread out the financial pain.

I am not going to order my rear bumper until the front is on.

Big upgrade today. I had a scratch on my OEM front bumper. Had to be done.

Going to add more lights to it at some point and a winch.

I want to order the rear bumper first as it takes months from order these days.

I used a homemade bracket to make the Rigid Fog lights fit. I love those lights and I don't want to use the ones C4 wants me to use.

You're not my real daddy, C4!

Anyway, I took some pics of the inside of the bumper for anyone's reference.

I have more pics if you are looking for something specific.

Looking good! I’m waiting for a scratch as well, feel bad pulling a perfectly good bumper.

looks amazing! Thats the exact bumper im about to order once they respond to my email....

I want to put some Baja Designs LPs under the hoop but just curious how they mount. Drill into that flat surface? have to weld your own tabs? I don't really want to learn how to weld on a brand new bumper.

Great looking font end, can't wait to see more goodies!

Thanks for that. When installing do you have a choice of how far out the bumper sticks? For instance can I make that surface area bigger? I see the voodoo sort of creating a rounded edge over the top of the bumper.

No, but there should be plenty of space for the mount. It's made for it.

I installed Rigid 360s with amber back lights onto my new bumper.

They are soooo bright. Best lights I have gotten so far.

I also adjusted the Rigid Fog lights to fit in the bumper better.

I ordered my rear bumper, but it will be December before I get it.

    Birthday upgrades incoming!

Part of my birthday present arrives tomorrow.

I removed some stuff to prep. Any ideas what I am doing? It's a three part upgrade.

What was removed is a hint to the first part.

Well the box and spare are gone, so I’m thinking an overland rack? Or maybe diamondback or decked?

Rear bumper has been ordered from C4, but no tire swing out.

I will probably get that mid-December. They are super backlogged.

Yup. They kind of went together so I would have places to put all the crap that was in the old toolbox.

I really hated having to hop up into the bed to get to my toolbox. Should have done Decked from the start.

I can store the bigger items on the RCI rack.

The other problem I wanted to solve was my truck bed. I wanted it back. With the old toolbox and the spare in the bed, there was no room for wood runs or just shoving crap in there for the dump.

So, I came up with a really cool idea for the spare. Can't wait to show you guys. Hope it works. LOL

Looks like the decked truck has a similar rack and uses a rear swing out. Not sure if it’s part of the bumper or not. It can always sit on top of the decked cover but mounting that on top is probably limited to straps to not muck up the sliding. And all that beautiful bed space for a tire too.

Alrighty! Installed the Decked drawers today. We'll, I got everything but the locks and dividers done. I literally ran out of light.

Give me more light, Day star!

Anyway, it took me five hours to install that sucker. Going to go through some of the steps I had issues with below.

First. They recommend you have a spray in liner. I did. And then they say, simply remove the lower tie down hooks.

Well, they were covered in thick spray in liner. Used a Dremel, a screw driver, and a hammer to get that shit off.

    That added some time.

The next issue I had to tackle was these bed stiffeners.

There was a post somewhere that said they would fit, but you might have to do some trimming.

That was more trimming than I was willing to do. So, I spent some time removing the bed stiffeners.

Oh, also the j-hooks would have been impossible with the stiffeners in the way.

    No me gusta.

I may ask my shop to weld some reinforcement under the truck bed if possible. But that is later me's problem.

Everything else went pretty much as detailed in the instructions.

I got a little confused with which bolts to use washers on. They could have been clearer with that. I did eventually figure it out.

Looking forward to putting the locks and dividers in tomorrow.

I am hoping, most of my crap will fit in there. Will find out tomorrow.

Edit: One last note. The cab side j-hooks are a pain in the ass. Thread the lock nut onto the j-hooks before you install it and then take it off. Makes it a little easier. Still have marks on my wrist from that part.

You can buy the core trax tie down system they have, but I am just going to use the rail system on the truck with tien downs.

Nice! Wasn’t sure if the tire would be taller than the deck rail tie downs, that works.

I have been trying to figure out how to wire my Rigid 360 back lights to when my tail lights are on. So pretty much whenever anything but DRL are on.

I found the fuse box under the hood and couldn't find what I was looking for. And then I found the smaller less convenient fuse box in the cab.

Of course it wouldn't be the easy one.

So, I fished a wire through the firewall, hooked up a wire tap to the fuse marked TAIL, and wired it up. I soldered the wire so I can be certain there are new problems.

Works great now and it just turns on automatically when appropriate. Pretty awesome.
